RE: Full detail about steemit... What to do & What not to do???

in #steemit6 years ago

Simple Explanation of how the reward system works:
Each day the Steem Blockchain creates new Steem
That Steem is distributed via our votes
The more stake you hold the more your votes are worth
When you post (or comment) the community has 3 options
upvote
downvote/flag
no action
A post is active for 7 days
When that week is over you get to claim whatever the balance is.
Whether or not you like how it works, that is all there is to it.

Anyone can flag anyone at any time for any reason during the 7 days a post is open.

Sort:

Please don't assume people are ignorants, I know exactly how this blockchain works, I am just not approving that some richers can decide what others will earn, especially when we cannot appeal nor perform same action...

Like, your autovote, if I was someone like you, I would have wanted to downvote you as, NO, your downvote comment is not worth 30 cents, but as hard I would have wanted to do it, I couldn´t, and THAT is UNFAIR ...

You want an even better share you already have with your SP, then vote for people you like and get curation rewards, don't spoil otherone´s, as by acting like that you impact :

  • his reputation
  • his possible reward
  • his curator´s rewards
  • his and his curators'desire to continue to use steem blockchain

also, when you say everyone can flag anyone, sorry, no sir, at least not with same consequences

don't tell me how to use my stake. I didn't even give him a full 100% downvote. I voted my comment to the top hoping others would see it and flag this shitty post also. :)

Best of luck to you.

Woaw, nice final answer :)

And you could have downvoted my comment. I don't do revenge flags.. (yet, in fact I encourage you to downvote it)

Flags are just a part of the system. They are good and they should be used. They are a tool of curation.

Let's imagine I flag it...
Impact is double 0, nor your rep, nor your reward would be impacted
Even if 10th of small accounts donwvote it, it would not have any impact, right ? Because your rep imunizes you.
Is what I just said correct ?
Then you get what I find unfair
If what I say is incorrect, then I present my sincere apologies

I believe I would lose a bit of money, unlikely a lot.
Yes, you are correct, my rep would not be touched.
10 might be able to impact .30 cents. But not my rep.

Here is the reasoning behind what you are calling unfair.

Stakeholders who hold Steem, should care more about how the site is used. (Doesn't seem that true) I didn't design it, you'd have to contact Dan with complaints. ;)

So, those with the most stake have the most influence. This is also a reason to buy and hold Steem.

I understand it can be hard to adjust and understand how it all works and how. I went through a phase of thinking it was unfair also.

I gave the guy a tiny flag for upvoting a shitty post for $300 bucks. I hope it serves as a warning to him that he could lose his money if he continues that. I usually flag one a day, because it is my responsibility to clean the site and protect my investment.

Agreed.
But big fishes with big reps sometimes do abuse the system too, but the rep is immunizing them.

But thx for all your explanation from you and @silentscreamer.
I have a better understanding of it, I don´t totally agree with it, but at least I get your point :)
