There are so many things to do each day. We work, we play, we browse, we poop...there are a lot of things that compete for our time. I wasn't planning on adding poop in there but my 2 year old was just saying it. He says "poop poop poop" when he is in the process of pooping. Hope he doesn't bring that stinky butt into my office.
Working from home
Anyway, we have so many things grappling for all 24 hours of our day. For my 24 hours I spend the first 5 (from 12am to 5am) sleeping...or waking up at some point in there only to just lay in bed and ponder life. When I finally get up I start my morning routine. You can read about it in this post: (My Morning Routine)[https://steemit.com/life/@wizardofcheeze/my-morning-routine]. I've changed a few things since. My wife and I walk/jog around ours and neighboring neighborhoods after breakfast to discuss things. It's our alone time. I've also been enjoying a lot of different loose leaf teas from Upton Tea. I've tried other companies but Upton, for me, has provided some consistently good teas.
After I get cleaned up I get to work. Work consists of programming/software development managing. I spend most of my time in my role but down time I consume information. News, articles, sports scores whatever peaks my interest at that moment. When I'm home I do mostly family things but again, down time consists of information consumption.
My information consumption has changed from what it was three months ago. When I was first introduced to Steemit I thought it was a great avenue to do a blog post without having to manage my own blog. Making posts about what interests me and things that hopefully interests you. But I've grown bored of it. I find there's not usually a lot of discussion surrounding posts because the poster has moved on to their next post. Maybe that's just the nature of blogging. Or the nature of chasing the money...
Small garden in front of our house
I'm not really interested in watching videos of people talking or singing. I'm sure those folks are very talented. But even if I were interested, the video platform people use has been a terrible viewing experience for me. Nearly 99% of the videos don't play for me or they play for a minute then hang until I close the window. I'm sure they are working on the platform but it really soured me to that component of Steemit. And honestly I wouldn't even watch them if they weren't from someone I like on Steemit.
This is more of a rant than anything. For my information consumption I tend to go to Reddit which I find to be far superior than any other platform. But I am actually getting bored of Steemit though. That's not bullshit. So I'll probably be posting a lot less...not that I was posting a lot to begin with. It is fun to create but it's a time suck that has been losing my interest. Below is a picture of a tomato from my friends garden...my tomatoes aren't ready yet. I have been getting a lot of cucumbers though. Unfortunately my boys have been eating them before I can take pictures.

Thanks for reading.
@wizardofcheeze you were flagged by a worthless gang of trolls, so, I gave you an upvote to counteract it! Enjoy!!
I agree with you about the current platform. I would love to see @steemit evolve to include more back and forth around a post, but I think that the amount so discourse will always vary greatly based on the controversial nature of the posts comment.
This post is a good example as the subject matter is fairly controversial because everyone who has SP has some level of avested interest in the platform. You appear to be getting some good comments so far and the comments are adding value to your ideas.
An example of a non-controversial post would be your bread making post (unless it become about gluten. :) ). While I think it’s a quality post the others can learn from, and deserves to be updated, it does not garner the level of discourse as a post such as this one.
It people just chasing the money leave and we are left with fewer but higher quality content creators, the platform will be stronger in the long run.
BTW, I’m writing this on the toilet. Poop, poop, poop.
100% agree. I didn’t think about the subject matter of the post dictating the level of conversation drawn to it. That’s a great point. Enjoy your poop!
tx 4 your openness. greez s. error
Do you mean people commenting initially or good 'ol back and forth? I am shit at commenting in general but try to always reply to comments. Finding that mostly it is the nature of the post and or my lack of being able to think of "original" comments so I might resort to gifs that seems to work well haha, but very few will actually be open for further discussion or if the poster keeps upvoting my comments I feel they think I keep responding for upvotes so gotta cut that shit short, but you stop commenting and then they think you just came for the vote. Oh deary.
Even if I few things on medium there does not seem to be a lot of discussion, people either agree or disagree get a response and move on. Hope you feel a bit more encouraged after a rest the saturation does tend to burn a person out a bit.
Yes, the ol' back and forth. Most comments are ignorable but others, such as yours, should be acknowledged. I think content creators are more focused on content creation than interaction. Just humping the mighty steem dollar. Obviously, a vote worth some steem change is a worthy recognition...but some discussion on the post is also a great way to build a community. Yeah, I'll be around but just not frequently. Thank you for the comment.
