Why some Steemians struggle in this platform?

We tend to meet different types of people every day on this platform. Different personalities and outlook in life. And it is always nice to meet good people who are kind, humble, hardworking, generous and good content creator; but somehow, for some reasons those good people also experience failure and being broken in this platform. Every day I encounter several writers who are still struggling to earn. You might know one or two people who are in this kind of situation; probably someone you just met, your close friend or perhaps someone you know for a while now.

The truth is we encounter these people every day and on certain occasions, they might have even approached us for advice and tips for the challenges they are experiencing in Steemit. We may not be the best person to counsel them but we try our best to appease them anyway with some words of consolation to comfort them. In some cases, we might be in the same boat as they are, facing the same kind of challenges and possibly in an even more difficult situation. After dispensing so much advice, at some point you wonder and ask yourself;

“Why is it that despite the wisdom inside their heads, the talents and hard work that they are capable of doing with their hands some people still struggle in this platform?”

Is it because some are just luckier than others?

And why is it that regardless of our efforts in writing good quality content and capturing beautiful photographs, we sometimes find ourselves invisible to others? While other writers earned a lot from their short and simple post?

Every day we are faced with the details that we think are insignificant. We feel that they are negligible and can’t possibly affect us in this community.

The problem is that we tend to set aside learnings and wouldn’t care about the system’s tiniest details anymore. We became fans of huge success, and focus on getting huge earnings. We get to think that paying attention to small details about the system and studying would only waste our precious time. What we didn’t know is that Failure is, in fact, an accumulation of small mistakes and negligence that we make every single day. But how many of us only invest time to learn? I guess not that many. Many of us become victims of this neglect of small details and continuously struggling. At first, I thought Steemit system works just like other social media. Post something, make yourself popular and earn. But I was wrong, I feel disappointed when I see my post not earning big. I thought that I might be missing and neglecting something, so I decided to go on its details. Learning is very crucial if you want to succeed on what you are doing, there’s no such thing as instant, it’s a process and you need to work for it. Gradually you will see yourself improving as you learn the details of the system. Fruits are sweeter if It comes from your hard works.

I’m not writing this to tell people how good I am on this platform, because just everyone else I’m still a minnow and still in the process of learning. I do my own research, google can be your friends too. Just type in what you need to know about Steemit and It will lead you to several helpful articles written by most of the popular people here in Steemit. If you’ve been on this platform for over a while now and your posts are not being noticed then you might be missing something and you might need to go on it’s details to learn more and grow yourself.

Any tips and suggestions to help us improve on this platform is very much appreciated.

I've recently learned that unless you have the fortune to buy steem to convert to steem power then you have no choice but to crawl your way through steemit like a sick turtle to reach your ultimate goal. Then I guess, in the long run, it will be a sweet victory if indeed you'll get to succeed in this platform because you'll know that every inch of it is hardwork.

That's true, steem power will make you become influencial in this community and for some of us who cannot afford to buy SP, the best thing that we can do is to focus on creating good quality content and engaging with fellow steemians through sincere and true comments on their post to get noticed and help us gain some rewards. It might be a slow process but it will surely worth our efforts. I appreciate your feedback @lrastriker more power to you.

I admit that I am not placing a priority in min/maxing my earnings on here and just try to upvote things that I find interesting.

I've done some research I learned that there's a perfect timing in casting our votes if we want to maximize the rewards from that post. Also engaging in discussions like this helps us to get noticed and earn rewards too. Thank you for dropping by @spottyfox.

Good motivational article..and its educative yup sometimes luck sometimes its relate to the environment and some because they are already famous even a single words that will delight their audiences this is a big screen like in the cinema put the biggest stars in the movie its surely hit the Big Box.. no matter how talented your are still feel like being isolated but thats not true...they have seen us..they notice what we do..just give some time to create the trust in them and create the genuine masterpiece and I know that someday once a while it will be one of the unforgotten....Thanks..

Thanks for your feedback @dylen. I agree with that. Some people just missed taking time to study how the system really works. Popular writers are at their peak of success not because they just sleep and woke up and voila! they are already popular, just every one of us they also started from nothing. They alotted more time to learn the system and that's why they are now in the spotlight.

Thats true...everyone of them start from zero..with their dedication try to seek the fortune plus they had that gift and wait to shine..Some maybe very fortunate to found their golden pot straight away..some maybe just for a short term create more controversial issue to gain popularity and create haters but that their strategies and they are ready for it...and for those who wants it a better way they need to devour their effort and pour some honesty in their materials slow gaining gem but its would have a better affect in the future...thanks for the quick reply the creative people is the sweetest person and for my side I am still crawling and need more learning to do some more research and you can have the best support in this platform if you have a chance to meet them...

Absolutely, I have met some whales on this platform, not personally but I can sense that they really want to help minnows like us. They serve as an inspiration to me and for sure for others to write what's really coming from our hearts. I admire them that they become popular because of helping our fellow minnows and they deserve the spotlight. I'm quietly observing and apply what I think will help me to grow in this system. I'm looking forward of seeing you in the spotlight as well! Of course, we can do it in God's time. God Bless you, my friend.

haha and you too God Blessed..
thats maybe a huge vision..who knows...best of luck @wondersofnature

Hi Isa, saw you post in my feed via @resteembot.

I agree that the KEY to opening the door lies within your ability to self educate or to understand the education available to you (after some search). I am a strong believer that Google is there to give you the information you require, if you know how to ask. The funny thing is, you just have to ask. It's that simple...

What greater time to live in than now? One where information is at our finger tips? I have never smoked meat, but after a Google search, visiting some sites & watching a video or two I was ready. That evening we enjoyed our own smoked meat, I was damn proud of it!

But let's be honest here, it's human nature to find the shortest and easiest paths. Our brains are wired this way, hence evolution. The world is where it is today due to the questions, research and solutions found by people who lived before us.

And yes, Steemit is a difficult platform. The thing about this platform is the communities. Find people who blog interesting posts about topics which interest you. Then you have something to read, comment and interact on.

On the flip side of things, this means that it's suggested that you keep blogging about a niche. If you don't then it's suggested that your posts are highly informal (or funny for that matter) to keep your reader engaged.

I see that a lot of people try to use Steemit like they used Facebook. Even though this can work (lot quality posts getting high payouts), I suggest looking at Reddit rather to understand how Steemit should be.

The difficult part about Steemit is that you have to post and interact regularly. Find a topic, write about it, find pictures, edit the layout, post, promote, comment and reply. This can be a daunting task for some, because it looks like a lot of work. (WORK - don't we hate that word most of the time?) They have to learn a lot, do a lot and thus are generally too lazy to follow through. If they only knew that the short time struggle will be offset by larger gains in a couple of months down the line...

I have to be honest, I am one of the people struggling with consistency and posting on Steemit on a regular basis, but it's because I don't want to present half assed work to the world. It's all recorded on the blockchain for every one to see forever, lol.

Alas, as you said, knowledge is power and the rewards are sweeter.
Thank you for a great post reminding us that we must always desire to grow. @darnscotty

Hi @darnscotty, that's absolutely true. We tend to overlook important things as we are focusing on the shortest paths to reach our desired spots. Many of us misinterpret the nature of this platform and the idea of making money. People just don't come to our post and upvote it, we need to create a good quality content to attract them, get engaged to get their votes. I appreciate your feedback and time in reading my post. More power to you :)
