I found this wonderful small town the end of January 2018. Why I had never seen it seems almost impossible now. However, I'm here now and I love it. Everyone has offered help, or suggestions, and all of this has aided me tremendously.
I have found a couple of resources that help any Minnow jump in and do their best. The first tutorial came from @jerrybanfield who has taken many beginner and newbie training post and collected them into a easy to follow guide. You can find his tutorial here.
For instance, I'm new to crypto and the whole idea of not sharing your Master Password was very eye opening to me. Steemit allows you to use your Post and Active passwords for most activity and @jerrybanfield explains why this important in this security tutorial.
The other Minnow help guide comes from the Steemit Incubator @sndbox. This tutorial provides the basics of Steemit, cryptocurrency, and some best practices for creating posts. @sndbox wants to improve posts by creatives so they can see more upvotes and curation. The tutorial is intensive without being overwhelming.
For instance, I am clueless about Witnesses, but this tutorial helped explain it a lot. The posts on Steemit Post Best Practices and What Not To Do were really helpful.
Currently, I have the rank of Plankton, which I'm sure is much better than Minnow. I feel we all aspire to become Dolphins and these guides have helped me move closer to this rank.
Leave me a reply and let me know what you think. All feedback helps me get better.
Other things I have written.
Cheers!
Thanks for the info. I’m new here as well and am slowly learning the ropes. Very slowly. It seems confusing and even overwhelming at times. For instance, some people say you should upvote a lot and others say not to. Some say you should write a lot and others say not to. See?
I like to write. I’ve been doing it for years and think that this could be a great outlet for me but I’ll have to spend more time learning to swim and less just floating...and these resources will help.
Thanks again.
I write too and I'm going to try and add more pictures. I haven't quite figured it out, but @sndbox recommends photos and the people they are helping seem to be doing a lot of writing and adding photos. Otherwise, I think you just have to keep going and do it for yourself. If anything, at least people are reading my fiction now. Cheers!
True. And, at the very least, the little value my account currently has is still a lot more than #facebook has ever given me.
