Deliver communities? Maybe it is too late for that.
They should have done that earlier.
A lot of people are left (and still leaving) Steemit.
I currently (nowadays) have 930 followers, but most of them are inactive nowadays.
They left Steemit long (months) ago. Steemit is becoming a ghost town.
I rarely receive real, human comments under my Steemit posts.
Writing anything engaging on Steemit is feels like time wasting.
Other than the few cents I earn with my posts, it is really time wasting.

I have over 5000 followers with a lot less active and I get a lot of good comments on my posts. That's what keeps me coming back. The money is almost insignificant for now, but it could be worth something in the long term.
It's only a ghost town if you don't seek people out. I met a guy yesterday who just joined and he's enthusiastic. That was at a London meetup attended by 12 people. I was also at Steemfest where 300 people were seeming pretty enthusiastic. It's up to us rather than Steemit to make it successful.
If only everyone could be as positive as you Steevc
These tips might help you. Aside from the post itself - there are many more tips in the comments below. You cannot just post here and succeed. You have to put big effort in other places too. Our retention rate is bad, so you need to continually get new connections.

"You cannot just post here and succeed."
Sorry, but you misunderstood. I am not trying to post here and succeed.
I am interacting with others on a daily basis. I mean I upvote their posts and comments, but still almost no one cares about my Steemit posts.
In fact, I upvote only the posts of others. I don't do self-upvotes at all since 2018.03.20.
According to SteemWorld, I earned 0.86 Steem Power curation rewards in the last 30 days, and 0.23 Steem Power curation rewards in the last 7 days.
And still almost no one cares about my Steemit posts. I rarely receive real, human comments under my Steemit posts.
My polls on dPoll are exceptions, because I get good interaction on them.
I also answer the polls of others.
"Our retention rate is bad..."
I am not surprised. Why would anyone want to stay on a website (on Steemit), where their content gets ignored.
It is not just me. I see a lot of people like me. Their content gets ignored. People sometimes put hours of work into their posts, but their content still gets ignored.
That is a waste of time. They move to better platforms, where the interaction is real. This can be either another Steem (or other) blockchain related website, or a totally different website with no cryptocurrency related things at all.
A lot of people are only care about their own posts on Steemit, but I am not amongst them.
People like to call Steemit a "social" network, but this is actually not so social.
Steemit can hardly be called a social network, when thousands of people are left (and still leaving) Steemit because of their disappointment in the platform.
The huge amount of selfishness makes Steemit disappointing/unattractive and drives people away.
Like it or not, this is the truth.
Well. maybe you are in the wrong place because that is what it is all about here.
Take a look at the post I referred to you and see if the tips can help you. You can easily do a lot better than you are with upvotes and interaction if you try them.
We have a 90% fail rate here, so you need to up your game to compete for interaction even if you do not want to succeed.
Sorry. That is a typo. I mean I am not trying JUST to post here and succeed.
Of course, I post. But I also do other things. But let's go back to posting, because I already explaned that I interact with others.
So, I posted at least one blog post every day on Steemit in the January of 2019 so far, but what is the point of writing a blog post, if almost no one cares about it?
No matter what I do, what I post, what I write about, almost no one cares about my Steemit blog posts, and I rarely receive real, human comments.
The monetary aspect of being active on the Steem blockchain in general is relatively successful in my case.
According to SteemWorld, I earned 59.89 Steem Power, 59.21 Steem, and $0.14 SBD author rewards in the last 30 days, and 8.56 Steem Power, 8.45 Steem, and $0.02 SBD author rewards in the last 7 days. I would not call/consider this a fail.
But the lack of the real interaction is really a fail on Steemit.
Do you enter contests or challenges with your posts? If you are just posting to regular tags it is hard to get seen here.
Then the website should be called as "Contestit" or "Challengeit", not as "Steemit".
I rarely enter contests nowadays, but I tried to submit some hunts to Steemhunt.
Even my hunts are ignored. I submitted two hunts. My first hunt got veryfied, but didn't received an upvote from Steemhunt.
The comment that says "Impressive Hunt, Your Hunt just got Verified!" received more payout ($0.22) than my hunt ($0.07).
My second hunt is ignored. No approval, no rejection, no anything. There are zero comments under that post. Absolutely no comments. So it is literally ignored. Totally ignored. And that is not the only post without any comment.
To be honest, Steemit and some associated products/dApps with it are a big disappointment for me.
I will probably stick to dPoll and to Musing.
Those are working dApps for me on the Steem blockchain nowadays.
If you want to try - this is what I do and recommend
