Hey Steemians!
I made an easy Meme contest yesterday that made me really angry about the noob Steemians, and it's a huge problem for their success on Steemit.
Why I got mad -
In the meme contest, I asked from the Steemians to make a meme that is related to Steemit, and maybe win prizes ( 10 sbd in total for 3 winners ) and instead of following these easy rules, users decided to comment a random meme, I seriously don't even know why. what will you achieve from that? NOTHING.
Only 8 of 38 comments were related to Steemit. others were just random memes, even in foreign languages that I don't even understand ( I said in the rules only English/Hebrew )
Like cmon, someone commented a meme in a foreign language that I doubt it has anything to do with Steemit and said "I want steem power"
New Steemit users, here's something you need to know that will save you a lot of time -
Spamming won't get you anything, won't get you followers nor money.
What can you do to be more successful and get acknowledged on Steemit -
Optimize your time and start making valuable comments and posts, engage with the community, which means, comment only when you have something to contribute, search posts on tags you know you can contribute to.
Stop commenting "nice post", "follow me" and so on... It won't get you new followers, it will only make people flag your comments and you can find yourself having less than 25 reputation and "black-listed".
Everyone here has something to contribute, if you think you're not interesting and you have nothing to write about, You're probably wrong. everyone has something to post and comment about.
You can love photography, poetry, pets, or tv shows, You can talk about anything you want!
Where do you live? there are people from all over the world in Steemit, I'm sure people will like to know about the culture and hear what you have to say about your country. I know I'll want to see posts like this.
TL: DR -
Stop wasting your time by commenting and posting spam, it won't get you anything but flags. spend your time doing something valuable. You can post about anything you want, even your favorite tv show.
And, it's not that hard to comment something that is related to the post, especially when it comes to a Steemit meme contest!
Post and make comments with value, engage with the community and sooner or later you'll be more successful in Steemit.
Just saw your contest and I can understand why you feel upset. The rules were crystal clear yet still comment section were littered.
I wonder if they know that spamming is a waste of time and they won't get anything out of it or do they really think spamming will work?? :/

You are right .I was blacklisted because that time i don't now about steemit.I am also new on steemit and when I started steemit I don't know about too much and now I started learning day by day . I saw your post first time.I don't know about which type of meme contest but your this post is about comments and posts are very informative we have here many types of plate forms .We can learn first and then we start comments and posts.
But when posts are too short like just photographs then. Which type of comments we can?
Can you tell me If our post is just photography then Is it ok or content is valuable ?
