YouGov is an international Internet-based market research company founded in the United Kingdom in May 2000 by Stephan Shakespeare (currently Managing Director) and Nadhim Zahawi, former Managing Director. YouGov's former chief executive officer, Nadhim Zahawi, resigned from the board of directors to run in the 2010 general election and is now MP for Stratford-on-Avon on behalf of the Conservative Party. Current CEO Stephan Shakespeare was a Conservative candidate for Colchester in the 1997 general election. Since April 2007 YouGov is headed by Roger Parry, replacing political commentator Peter Kellner who now serves as president of the company [1]. When YouGov was valued at 18 million pounds in April 2005 Kellner owned 6% of the company [2]. The current CEO, Stephan Shakespeare, owns about 10% [3]. YouGov is headquartered in the UK; he is a member of the British Polling Council and is also registered with the Information Commissioner's Office of the United Kingdom. The YouGov group has 21 branches worldwide, across the UK, the US, Europe, the Nordic countries and the Middle East [4].

In 2006, YouGov acquired a Dubai-based market research firm (Siraj) and in 2007 it continued to grow by acquiring market research firms in the United States (Polimetrix), Germany (Psychonomics). ) and in Scandinavia (Zapera). Between 2009 and 2011, YouGov expanded its operations in the United States through three new acquisitions (Clear Horizons, Harrison Group and Definitive Insights). Each of them has been renamed YouGov and is part of the YouGov group, with organic companies in the United Kingdom and France [5]. YouGov Group's customer media includes The Sun, The Times, The Guardian, The Economist, The Huffington Post, Bild, CBS News, Al Aan TV and Samaa TV.
