RE: STOP PLAGIARISM ON STEEMIT - ONE STEP SOLUTION TO IDENTIFY COPIED IMAGES

in #steemit7 years ago

Nice move but you have to be careful doing this. Some people here are bloggers who just joined steemit. If they run a blog somewhere and decide to share their blog pictures here that may not be plagiarism. I stand to be corrected. If they have a personal blog with pictures already indexed in google, they can still share those pictures here. What do you think?

Thanks for your comment @yourhelper. Yes that is a possibility but it is very easy to figure out by looking at their profile in general. The people I am talking about are those whose images are from multiple different sources and in most cases these pictures are already popular and featured on hotel and travel websites. If you are such a popular photographer then I am sure you would like to at least provide a link to the original source and moreover respond to comments when people ask the technique and EXIF info.!

Good idea. I was only saying that some people who have other blogs or who published in other blogs can still bring their old articles here so you may need to investigate well before you flag. When an image is published in a blog that is indexable by google then it will be found in google search.

Thank you for your clarification.
