Hello!
As you've probably noticed, I fully support the idea of decentralization in general and cryptocurrencies in particular.
I am feeling a genuine enthusiasm when it comes to blockchain and projects associated with this technology.
That's why today I want to speak about revolutionary concept of STEEMIT in detail, especially to those who's new here.
This project came into my field of vision a few weeks ago, and at first reminded commonly known REDDIT, especially because of its old school design:)
But the main difference between Steemit and other social networks is that you get paid for content creation and curation.
This seems surprising at first, but in fact it's quite logical, because the money is given to those who spent their time and energy on development of the network, not just to investors.
The more hours I spending on this platform - reading about innovations and plans of the founders and members of the community, the more I'm getting involved in this movement. (already sounds like a sect, haha)
Steemit now in its beta version, but contains an incredible potential and gradually gathers an interesting writers, with whom you can communicate directly - as on reddit «Ask Me Anything».
Now a few words about how does Steemit works - namely, about a posting, curating and steem-power.
I highly recommend you to start to read the so-called «white papers» from the developers, it takes off a lot of questions, such as where the money come from, or how they are distributed.
But if you're lazy, I'll try to explain the basic points below.
When you register, you will immediately have a little of steem-power, equivalent to 10 US $, so you can vote for the content that you like.
This looks like kind of PR-campaign to attract new users, but the money goes not to the advertising companies, such as Google Ads, but directly to the users for their time spent in the social network.
If you don't want to write anything, you can just browse other people's posts, sorted by popularity or individual tags, and upvote - means "thumbs up", what you think is worthy, or flag - means "dislike" that was not pleasant.
Each upvote brings the author of content some number of steem-dollars and steem-power, which depends on the weight of the voted - the bigger it is, the more will get the author.
At the same moment, the more times you vote for a period of time, the weaker becomes your voice, but it recovers after a while.
After about half a day, the votes for the post will be calculated by the system and everybody - the author and voted - get the benefits.
And, if you voted for some good post in the first 15 minutes after the publication of it - all the money goes to the author, and if within half an hour - to you as curator too. Those who voted last, get less.
But what if you do decide to create your own post?
First, make sure that the content is original - Steemit have a system for tracking plagiarism.
Secondly, make it so that you like it yourself - pieces of random text isn't working!
And then - just watch the reaction, answer the questions, meet new people, write a comments - the community itself is still very young and open and willing to accept new personalities!
After counting the votes, you get 50% of the amount in steem-dollars and 50 more in the form of steem-power - the weight of your voice.
Steem-dollars can be derived and exchanged for real money, or you can leave it in the system by exchanging them in steem-power on the inner market.
At the same time, your voice, that is steem-power, becomes stronger, so you can more effectively oversee the content, helping the community to become better.
So what is a Steem-power?
It can be represented as a share of the platform - the more and the longer you keep it, the more profit is accumulated.
On the other hand, if for some reason you decide not to participate in this project, and your steem-dollars already spent on the steem-power, no worries - you can always make a cash-out,
Then it will be paid to you partly every week for two years, in amount equivalent to your Steem-power, something like a long-term deposit without the possibility of withdrawal.
Thats how the system becomes more stable and valuable, making everybody wins, including you - as an asset holder, you'll end up with more than if you decide to pull them out all at once and spend on the current needs.
How I made it:
Shortly after registering on the platform and posting a number of test images, I decided to get to know each other with the community, so I've used the tag Introduceyourself and wrote a little about myself, my activities, thoughts and plans.
The following 24 hours turns out surprising to me - my post got 4K dollars.
Hundreds of people have read it and wrote dozens of comments - it was sudden and, of course, nice!
Honestly, I didn't expect to receive such a positive feedback on my post compared with researchers, engineers and crypto-activists whose also here, and besides, supported by an impressive amount of green.
Of course, as for anyone who suddenly hit the jackpot, the first thought was "how do I spend the money?"
Steemit gives you a week to think about it, so after thorough observation and analysis of everything, I decided to support the project itself, that is to leave this money within the system.
Why?
First, to see how the new, but already gaining momentum social structure is developing and be a part of it - is really cool!
Secondly, these breakthrough ideas deserve an encouragement and participation of all members of the blockchain community, even purely for the sake of experiment.
And third, why kill the goose that lays the golden eggs?
For how long the Steemit will exist, or is it giong to scam as dozens of other ambitious blockchain projects - no one can make a prediction. The opinions are divided.
Yet, this is the moment when ordinary users generating content, who is not very interested in financial tech, can finally understand why do they need to use blockchain and what benefits it gives.
I look at it not only from the position of the content creator, but also as a traveler, as it can neutralize the difficulties of using your own money abroad and also intermediaries, who just passing the money from hand to hand.
With a blockchain this happens quickly, without commissions and very safe.
At the moment, most of the audience on STEEMIT is English-speaking people, Chinese people is also here, the Russian community is building little by little, so join it, even if you don't speak English so well.
Don't be afraid to participate in this curious experiment,

Bye!
Making magic with words is your thing, I really enjoyed reading the article and the awesome usage of words, and you’re such a darling. Thanks for this mind-blowing piece.
Aww, thanks! English is not my native language, I've learned it in my journey, but I'm trying my best:)
Interesting article, but you forgot to add the two simple rules for Steemit success:
So which one is your category?:)
Thanks for this topic! I'm new to Steemit, and your explanation of the currencies helped me a lot. I'm happy to see someone had an awesome money-making experience and used it to help others! :)
Thanks! You're welcome, I'm trying to make it easier for people so they can focus on creation, not only technical details.
Update:
After counting the votes, you get 75% of the summ: half of it in steem-dollars, and another one in steem-power, weight of your voice.
