I'm new to Steem and up-voting my posts is what I was advised to do.
I'm also the most unselfish person you'll ever meet. If you doubt that - read my posts.
Once you click this box it stays clicked for every post you publish, so I never really gave it much thought and figured it was what everyone does.
Don't crucify newbies for merely being ignorant. We're just new and not used to all of this.
If this is considered improper, insulting, selfish, thoughtless, etc..., I just didn't know and received bad information from the start.
Apparently you havent really read my post. I was talking about the big people on steemit like dolhpins and whales. Not minnows. Minnows need all the help they can get.
Yes, we do. I don't upvote myself anymore but I have in the past. Since I was the only one voting on my posts, I didn't see the harm.
It is interesting how people abuse the system for their (and their circle of friends) benefit. I suppose that will always happen but I appreciate the info! Thank you @alex-icey !
Oh - well, I'm too new to even realize what these names mean. I suppose I should've figured it out because these are the terms pool-players use., but I'm stupit. LOL
Minnows are cute.
There is nothing wrong with voting for your own posts on Steemit. Self-voting abuse is when individuals spam comments and then upvote them. Voting on your own posts is Steemit working as intended.
