I agree. That number is totally arbitrary and makes no sense. Perhaps we can't expect reform, but we can certainly try for it. If we simply throw up our hands in resigned defeat, we may as well use them to wave a long, slow goodbye to this platform and any hope of it not becoming another MySpace, buckling under whatever pops up in the wake of its demise. This is the shit that erodes foundations from the inside out...

I so agree with you. I love the platform. If it did not exist, I probably will never write a post again. Do I care t9 fight for a platform where the management does not seem as involved in stopping this crap. I am willing to meet half way.
Don't worry, in the next couple years there will be other rewards platforms that are going to crush poor little steemit. Why do I say that? Because the people who made steemit worth anything to begin with, and left this dumpster fire, are going to be the ones who help crush it. Then once FaceCrook and Google start rewarding.....oh boy. KIK already has a reward and payment system in place that specifically addresses the problems that steemit has. Anyone looking from the outside at the options will not choose steemit as long as the same assholes are hanging around as criminals dressed in hero costumes. Word will be out. If these idiots who don't produce any content, but instead police everything in the most immature and ridiculous ways are still king of the mountain, everyone will say fuck that bullshit, I'll go over here and earn.
