Egg waffle is a popular snack in Hongkong, they usually call it eggettes, egg puffs and gan dai zaii in cantonese, who knew so many names could stand with something so simple and delicious.
I introduced this egg waffle to some of my friends who visited hongkong, some of them just raised their eyebrows but i insisted that it was delicious.. they give it a try and they loved it, they even posted it on instagram :)
So let me give you a pro tip - the best kind of egg waffles are the one thats crispy on the outer shell and soft and chewy on the inside. It is best consumed right away after the vendors give it to you, eat it while its warm. It is usually served on a paper bag.
Egg waffle is also very affordable its only about 15 to 25 hkd, im talking about the simple ones . There’s this new/trendy version that they mix it with syrup and toppings, usually cost 45 to 70hkd. Between the trendy and the original waffle, ofcourse i prefer the plain and simple one, Team original :)
