I grew up in sunny Cape Town, South Africa. Where they have beautiful beaches and breathtaking mountain views. I had never seen it snow till I moved to America.
I took this photo the last time I went home to visit (Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa)
I now live in a small town called Decatur, Illinois. It's currently 8f (-13.3c), they say it's going to go down to 1f (-17.2c) tonight brrr! I spent about 1.5 hours shoveling snow today. One year we left it, thinking it was just going to snow more (that was our first year living in IL). Bad mistake, we ended up blocking one of our cars in the garage for most of the winter.
This is me this morning shoveling snow
The view of our front porch (before I shoveled)
We have a long brick driveway. Shoveling snow off brick is not easy!
Let's just say I'm looking forward to Spring and Summer!
Flowers picked from my garden last summer.
Beautiful photo of the sunset. I can't believe how much snow you have outside of your place. It'll make summer that much more wonderful when it comes !
Thanks for these pics Kimmie and the interesting details of your life. Stay warm.
