Magic behind the beautiful hand..

in #steemitbloggers6 years ago (edited)

Have we ever imagined what our hand is capable of.??
No doubt Hand is the important body parts, that enables us to d many things. And yes it also make our lofe easier with many task performed. From eating to cooking, from hitting the computer keyboard to slapping on any face. And above all with our so dependan y it help us to make many beautiful thing.

While ,I am enjoying some village life lately, I saw so many great use of hands. No i do not mean about sowing or stiching but making a disposable leafes bowl for eating.
Can you imagine making a disposable bowl from some plants leafes??
Here you can see the beautiful hand quite busy in making few for home.

My 60 years old dear aunt is quite expertise in making those disposable bowls at home. Though not in lumpsum quantity as we do not have any famiy business of it but yes during festival or eating some oilyy food these disposable leafes bowls are best option. She quite happily and quickly stiching out those bowls with the leafes.

The small leafes bowl which we call as DONA is made up from Shakua leafes which are easily available in our jungle areas. The bowl are quite helpful in using at home and easily been made. The leafes are bigger in size than usual leafes and easily been crafted in bowl using 2-3 leafes.

Joint together in cup form and then stiching the leafes using some spare bamboo straw (thin wooden straw ) make is very usable. The experiencr hand of my aunt mend many bowls very quick time and I left with very little time to capture the process..

It is always good to use them as it avoid much washing of utensils. These are economical and environmental friendly too, as the leftover bowls get dried up and can be burned in 2-3 days and easy disposed off. Also it does not involve any tree cutting.

In villages these Dona are good source of income for many poor people who make them and sell them to other during mass celebration or function. Not only bowls, but we have Leafes plates very popular in our areas. Hopefully i would share the picture soon with my lovely steemian.

What a simple and ingenious idea: leaf dishes! Thanks for the story.

Hello i love this idea of bowl made of leaves it is great for the environment.

Hands are an integral part of ourselves. I love to watch people do something with their hands.

Wow! It's the first time I've seen this, but it's really convenient to use such disposable plates than to wash a bunch of dishes)

Yes @veta-less these are best and economical too and good to use when there is mass social gathering

This does sound handy. I also like how neatly they are made in your picture.

Thanks @gmatthe2 a good way to reduce the work at home...through these eco friendlier utensils

What a sensible idea - beautiful and, as you say, environmentally friendly. From time to time I use vine leaves on which to serve food which is both pretty and can save on the washing up!

Thanks @fionasdacourites . Indeed it is the best way to use some natural way of eating. During mass gathering these cups and owls helps us a lot.

That is quite wonderful @steemflow! What a wonderful custom and so ecologically friendly!

That is pretty amazing. I never thought of using leaves for anything other than a puppy jump pile! Thanks for opening my mind a little bit more.
Ren

Love how travel expands our minds.

This is such a great idea! You grandma rocks! I would love such plates if we would have this kind of strong leaves over here.. but all the leaves here are small. I've seen some people use big stones instead of plates here :) You know.. you go to the river, pick a stone, clean it at home and have a nice deco and a good sturdy plate :D

Ahh that is wonderful to jave a stone plate....good to see queeny comment blessing on my post...😉 by the way she is my aunt...not grandma

Oh man! I'm sorry :D I was thinking about my grandma as I'm excited to see her soon and it's going to be her birthday so I was planning a present for her :)

Queeny don't feel sorry 😊
