Sweet Sugar , the love of many and also a diesese for many. For all those Love and Hate of Sugar, we all know sugar are made up of SugerCane. But have we ever wonder
how to squeeze the Juice out of those strong long Sugercane sticks?
Making juice of any fruit is one of the simpler task, but have we ever tried to make Sugercane Juice. Let me share the Indian Sugercane Juice seller, who roams around the street and sells Sugercane juice.
Well its not actually a cart. The vehicle is a JUGAD built upon several parts of different vehicle. Like engine of two wheeler, the wooden cart of a bicycle cart and tyre of scooter. I missed to take the vehicle actual photograph.
Let come back to make some Sugercane Juice. Well this vehicle carry, Raw Sugercane, Disposable Glass, the juicer ( call it crusher) and the generator to run the crusher.
To make Juice, Firstly the long sticks were cut into small pieces then the outer part are peeled and seperated from the sticks. Then the bunch of the small Sugercane were put inside the crusher from one side.
Crushing the sugercane between those iron pistons is bit risky too as the chances of damaging own hand is more. The sugercane were put between the two rods from one end it came out from the other side and all the juices were flowed to the container kept beneath the pistons.
The seller will continue to do the process untill the sugercane left with only stack of hay with nothing juicy left on it. The main function of juice seperation is done by the crusher and the generator which is used to run the crusher.
The small generator which is attached to the crusher with tye help of the belt is a very effective machine to Squeeze the Juice. Sigercane juice are very beneficial juice for our body. The juice is very effective in following way.
- It help in improving body immune system.
- It prevents from dehydration.
- It is the best cure for Jaundice treatment.
- It moisturize the body and help in beautiful skin.
- It helps in avoid tooth decay.
With so many health benefits, it is alway advisable to have a glass of Sugercane juice everyday. In what so way we get. I had my juicy glass and it was very sweet. Hope you all enjoyed the Sweet sugary post.

I had fresh sugarcane juice in Egypt. They used a different method, but it is so good!!
It made me very sad when I read your sentence that they have disposable glass jars!! Too much waste! Glass is washable and can be reused over and over and over again.
Being in the US where so much trash is produced, I am always hoping that other countries do better. Anyway, thank you for sharing about the sugarcane juice production.
Hahab i agree with the wastage part.but being the festival season around....many people were remain in fasting and they avoid any usable glass..as it was not properly washed with many people using them. In normal days the juice seller have 5-6 glaasess...saw the pepsi crate on the picture it generally contain glasss

Sugarcane was our favourite drinks when we were kids, the machine used was similar to your photo but a bit smaller.
Ohhh..the juice is full of mamy health benefits. So fo not stop it havinh. Always good to have it on empty stomach

This is fascinating! I love seeing how things are done. That machine does look a bit dangerous, though. I know I would be paranoid to get my fingers caught in it!
Better to have it done by the experience one 😉 and be safe with some suggary juicy stuff

Who would've thought that the cane from which tooth-destroying sugar comes from would actually help in the prevention of tooth decay. It seems almost oxymoronic! Thanks for another unique and informative post.
Wowo...great viewpoint @steveblucher these are realy very helpful juice and beneficial for health

That 's a similar machine they use here too, the sugar cane sellers
But of course they have it on a Food Truck of sorts, and I love watching how they flatten the sugar cane as they juice it
I remember when I was a kid, Mum would cut them into 4 inched lengths and the quarter them, and we'd have to suck the juice out
And my Dad without fail, every single time, would tell us that they used to use these to brush their teeth when he was growing up
I didn't know it helped with tooth-decay
Now it all makes sense
Thank you for sharing @steemflow :D
Haha...great to knpw some of your childhood memory..it is just like juicy sugary stuff 😉
The juice is very healthy especially during summer which keep the strong heat waves away. I know it is easily availble on street ....alway taste good

I had once bought a sugar cane, not knowing what to expect from it. When I cut it, I was surprised at the juice that came from it. Didn't know there was juice from it. The taste was quite a peculiar taste and really was not what I expected.
Very interesting to see this article about sugar cane. Much to learn :)
Thanks @foxyspirit tye sticks are the raw unit of sugar that are formed later. But many like to have it in juicr form. In India it is one of the main beverages of summer and easily available on every street

My first encounter with sugarcane was simply being given a stick from the local Indians, and told to bite and suck out the juice (note, not chew) - and it tasted gooood!. Being young and naive they tricked me and my friend into thinking it was bamboo! Lol, it was first later lthat we earned of its origin and the practicality of these wagons!
Ahh..seems you gotta have a great Indian experience then...but sucking out juice from it is bit tiring one.....we usually chew it...and had it this morning too....chewed out the sugary juice.....
