Hi everysteembody!
You all know turmeric for indian curry dishes, like chicken curry, marsala and the like, but have you ever made an ice cream with it?
It's absolutely delicious and healthy!
Curcumin, the orange stuff turmeric got it's color off is not only orange but very healthy. It is incredibly anti-inflammatory, which helps your body to build up a good immune system to fight against cancer and many other illnesses.
Important to know is:
You have to add coconut and/or pepper in order to free the curcumin out of the turmeric, but that's ok, because it's delicious all the way!
For the Turmeric-Ginger Nice Cream
you need ...
1 large fresh turmeric root
1 small fresh ginger root
1/2 lime
2 tablespoons of coconut cream
some coconut water
1-2 frozen banana
1 tablespoon of coconut sugar
Put the coconut water in the freezer some hours before you prepare the nice cream and if the coconut cream isn't liquid warm it up a little.
Then blend it all up but add the coconut cream at the very end.
Put it in the freezer again, if it is too soft.
For the Turmeric-Pepper Nice Cream
You need ...
1 big turmeric root
1 teaspoon of peppercorns
1 orange
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
orange juice ice cubes
1-2 frozen bananas
Das sieht richtig lecker aus!
I love turmeric! I used to drink it almost every morning back then in my home country :-) Love your post, btw!
Two nice cream recipes that your body thank you for and they're tasty too!A rich , creamy, coconutty, gingerly nicecream and the other one is super colorful, spicy and unexpectedly delicious! Lovely presentation with the video. Good luck!
That's a wonderful use of turmeric @holgerwerner, I've never seen it in ice cream before! Both flavours sound great, one gingery, one orangey, lovely. The video presentation is very nicely done and shows the process well so we can make it also. For future reference if you decide to join in again, your photo/video should feature a sign displaying your steemit account name + the date, as the challenge is really about creating a new recipe in response to the weekly theme. Looks fantastic though and thanks for sharing it with us!
