It is very important for us as believers to continue to break new grounds, set new records and establish new order in every of our endeavors. I say this because that’s the kind of lifestyle God has ordained for us to live.
God told his people in Deut 2:3
Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward
As Christians we are not expected to live a stagnated, retarded or retrogressive life. God hates stagnation. That’s why He told Moses in Exodus 14:15 to tell the Children of Israel to move forward.
“And the LORD said unto Moses …speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.
Every day, month or week of the year is supposed to be an addition on the previous.
Prov 4:18 says
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
Where you are right now may be great ….and thank God for it.
Your current achievements in the kingdom may be awesome. Thank God for them. But there’s a better place.
There’s a place called higher grounds. There's a new height to which you must soar.
The day you stop succeeding is the day you become a failure.
Success must be in succession to maintain its relevance.
That’s why you don’t find a car manufacturer who doesn't improve on previous models.
The Volkswagen Beetle of the 80s was very popular and widely celebrated in its own rights. I still remember vividly how at that time, my kinsmen called it “Ijapa” (pronounced: i-ja-kpaa.) with all pride and zest.
Ijapa means tortoise. So nick-named to portray the hunch back design of the Beetle car.
In today’s world however, the story is entirely different. The car simply doesn't measure up with the needed speed, slick, comfort and prestige of the time. The vogue that once characterized Beetle Volkswagen is now extinct and you’ll hardly know this is the same car which was once so celebrated.
This scenario shows vividly how we become as Christians when we think we have arrived. This is exactly how we become when we stop marching on and pushing forth. May you never become an "Ijapa" in your lifetime in Jesus name.
That’s why you must never settle for where you are right now. Fine, God has done some great stuff with your life but it’s not time yet to relent because He is taking you higher.
There are still more lands to possess and territories to take.
Improve on that Character flaw. Get that one more degree.
Touch one more soul.
Become a better person.
Do something new. Make the world a better place.
Aim higher. Shoot farther. You can’t be satisfied now.
It’s time to soar to your higher ground.
Higher higher
