Indonesia since the independence era seeks to provide a good educational service for the community. All that is evident from the achievements that have been achieved to date. However, beyond that many problems have not been resolved.
"In addition to the good news about Indonesia's achievements since the first, there is also bad news," said Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Anies Baswedan at a gathering with the head of the Education Office, Mendikbud explained that 75 percent of schools in Indonesia do not meet the minimum education service standards. Based on Kemendikbud's mapping of 40,000 schools in 2012, it is known that the contents, processes, facilities, and management of most schools are currently not in accordance with good educational standards as mandated by law.
Not only that. The average value of teacher competency test that is expected to reach the standard 70 has not been met. "The average value of our teachers, which we expect 70, but which is now only 44.5," said Mendikbud.
For that, continued Mendikbud, development and guidance of teachers become the main focus of government in the future. Mendikbud added, if the competence of teachers meet the existing standards, then a good educational service can be realized.
Indonesia's position in several educational analyzes also shows that much remains to be evaluated and improved.
"We are in position 40 of 40 countries, whatever the way we prepare, whatever its readiness, whatever the reason, this fact is happening," said Mendikbud.
This is all due to the lack of seriousness in preparing good education services, as well as the lack of motivation from the students in getting education.
"For a decade we have been stagnant, while others are preparing for the world fight," said Mendikbud.
For that, there needs to be seriousness in improving the condition and support from various parties.
Educate education.
