You raise some really good points. I find the same that commenting on posts from your own feed is a good place to start. Most people sooner or later will start to engage with you and upvote your content.

I tend to stick to a relatively small group that I follow who post content I am acutally interested and have an opinion about, as it makes it easier to make genuine comments.

I tend to shyh away from commenting if I disagree with someones post, but maybe I shouldnt it could be a good way to generate more discussion.

My golden rule is that if I enjoyed the content but have nothing more to add or a new angle then I just upvote the post and move on rather than leaving short irrelevant comments.

Many Steeimans can learn from this post so I have resteemed it :)

Some people are more sensitive than others about disagreement. Only you can decide if the possible benefits outweigh the risks for a particular engagement. Thanks for resteeming. 😀

Yeah it can be a bit of a touchy subject that not everyone will agree on.
