It has saved avert diseases such as hepatitis, measles, dengue and now, it helps prevent polio for over years now. This is one of the vital part of the growth of a child. Raising a child healthy enables him to access greater opportunities in life.
Dengue is now one of the most important tropical diseases. While it doesn't kill that many people, it has tremendous economic and social impact.

Giving of free Vaccinations and immunizations in the public schools, health centers and the like is a drive of DOH in the Philippines for public good. It was started way back July 1979. The beneficiaries are toddlers to teens, ages that ranges 0-18 years old.
On February 11, 2016, the world’s first dengue vaccine was launch in the Philippines under Health Secretary Janette Garin.
But in previous months now, the issue of the vaccination for dengue, the Dengvaxia , given to the public is very viral. There were incidents that some of the beneficiaries’ death are caused by this.
After some time Secretary Garin purchased P3-billion disbursement of purchase of the vaccine, the WHO releases a paper saying the vaccine may be ineffective to people who haven’t experienced dengue.
It was adviced to give three doses of these vaccines. After the WHO releases its paper, the immunization was temporarily suspended leaving 489,003 pupils took the vaccine.

But what is Dengvaxia Vaccine?
It is a vaccine used to prevent dengue fever in human. It is recommended to be given to anyone who has already experienced dengue and can worsened to those who have not been previously infected. The Dengvaxia vaccine was first given to public in Philippines in 2016.
DENGUE - a trend disease in tropical and subtropical countries. It is caused by mosquito bites that brought virus from human to human.
According to UP-PGH, 3 of 14 died due to dengue even they were given Dengvaxia and 2 of them are caused by the vaccine's failure.
The Philstar.com cited that the DOH confirms the death of 14 children were mostly due to dengue even they were given the dengvaxia vaccine. The forensic experts said that the bodies of the passed children were related to dengue shock syndrome.
The dispute of the cases of the death of the injected children now gives trauma especially to the parents. Most of the parents now are doubting the health public assistance given by the government, some are now refusing and avoiding the immunization including other vaccines such as tetanus, tuberculosis and others. As other vaccines are affected by the fault that once caused the death of few.

Coverage of children vaccinated went down to 60% from 85%. Here's a trivia for all you folks:
Dengue virus has 4 serotypes. If you were infected with one of the four, it's not usually serious. It becomes serious when you are infected by a dengue virus with another variant. Because during the second infection, your body is already too ready to combat the infection.
So ready that they use excess force to eliminate the infection. The host dies due to inflammatory substances launched by the body to "control" the infection. It's like your body indirectly caused your death and not by the virus itself. If you read deeper into this, the phenomenon is called "cytokine storm".
Yeah right .. maybe because of the white blood cells that fought the viruses, right?
