1. The Apathetic Teacher Type (Passive)

This type of teacher has the characteristics of a flat facial expression, not daring to stare, often wringing his own hands, and weak voice pressure. He used to belittle himself (I'm not Ok), but appreciate others (You are Ok). The passive teacher is waiting for someone else to come to him for help. However, because neither expressed nor was able to express his wishes, others were almost impossible to be willing or moved to help to realize an incomprehensible desire. Therefore, teachers of this type often cannot take advantage of opportunities.

Passive teachers also find it difficult to express their feelings to others. They harbor problems and avoid unpleasant situations; they quickly give up, despair, and succumb to the opinions of others. As a result, they always lose and cannot live happily.

Passive response aims to avoid conflict in any way. Passive or apathetic people are reluctant to speak what they think about for fear of others disagreeing.

Passive individuals "hiding" from others and wait for others to start a conversation. They place the interests or wishes of others above their own interests or desires. In a relationship with others, they tend to be anxious, worry about how others will react to them, and choose high needs for approval. Problems arise when people are passive, secretly, angry or hateful to others. Passive people may see themselves as victims of the manipulation of others. This is the view that damages their confidence.

2. Sarcastic Teacher Type (Passive-Aggressive)

This type of teacher has the disdainful features of others (You're not Ok) and does not appreciate his ability (I'm not Ok), being passive in front of the crowd, but aggressive behind them. His words are sharp, sarcastic, his behavior is bad, and likes to think negatively. This kind of teacher does not like to be held responsible.

3. "Killer" Teacher Type (Aggressive)

The characteristics of this type of teacher are always spontaneous acts, facial expressions, and bulging eyes, voice rising, thinking himself right (I'm Ok) and others always wrong (You're not Ok). His aggressive behavior emphasizes something that aims to harm others and is socially unacceptable. There are two main aggressions of opposing aggression: self-defense and on the other hand making a profit by making the opponent helpless.

In conflict situations, aggressive people want to always win by dominating or intimidating others. An aggressive person upholds his or her own interest or point of view but does not care about the feelings, thoughts, and needs of others. This aggressive way is often successful because other people succumb to avoiding a worse and prolonged conflict.

Often people who tend to use aggressive strategies to achieve their goals, this has a wrong perspective. For example, they feel themselves constantly in situations that are threatened, personally assaulted, or feel annoyed by others who are blocking their efforts. Individuals like this are irritable and frustrated. They seem to believe that they should not feel frustrated. Instead rationally reveals an event with disillusionment, an aggressive person responds with anger. Instead of trying to solve the problem, they instead expose what is in the chest and increase the anger and attack.

4. Type of Assertive Teacher

The characteristics of this type of teacher are always showing sincere expressions (I'm Ok) and always appreciating others (You're Ok), staring at the other person, straight body, and proper sound pressure. Assertiveness (assertiveness, courage of opinion) includes three basic components, namely:

  • Ability to express feelings (eg accept and express feelings of dislike)
  • Ability to express beliefs and thoughts openly (able to voice opinions, express disagreement, and be assertive, though emotionally difficult to do this and sometimes have to sacrifice something.
  • Ability to defend personal rights (not letting others harass and exploit themselves). Assertive teachers are not people who always hold back and also not shy. They can express feelings (usually directly) without being aggressive or abusive.

The purpose of assertive behavior is to communicate something in an atmosphere of mutual trust. The emerging conflicts are faced and solutions sought to benefit all parties. Assertive individuals start communication in such a way as to convey their concern and appreciation to others. The purpose of this communication is to express opinions of oneself, accept the opinions of others, and to solve interpersonal problems without damaging a relationship. Assertive behavior requires one to respect others as well as to respect oneself.

If you are a teacher, you belong to which type of teacher. Hopefully, we all belong to the Assertive teacher type. If we are an assertive teacher, how should assertive teachers teach their students in school, keep up with my post and I will explain it in my next post.
