Hi my steemian friends, on this occasion, I will share with you how effective a praise is given sincerely to our students, in recognition of their good behavior and the efforts they have made.
Let's ask ourselves, as a teacher, which is more often done: give praise to students' good behavior or criticize, blame, advise, rule, and label? Unconsciously, the students were thirsty for teachers' praise. Every human being, whatever the background, has a fundamental similarity, that is to be praised, recognized, heard, and respected. This need is often forgotten. Humans are not just physical beings, but also spiritual beings who need something far more valuable. Humans always need with a name of appreciation and recognition of what they have done as a result of their contribution. There is no need to give anything luxurious and expensive, just give sincere compliments in recognition of what they have earned.

Why should a teacher give a sincere praise to his students? There are several benefits that can be gained by giving praise:
- Showing appreciation for the students' efforts,
- Ensure that good behavior keeps repeating,
- Build closer relationships and more positive communication,
- Provide an example to other students to follow a good role model.

The Efficacy of a Praise
Praise is proven to change student behavior. Even the most naughty child will feel cared for or rewarded if given effective praise. Then, how to get that praise to be powerful? There are several criteria we should look at when we want to give praise to our students:
- Given in accordance with what has been done,
- Explained in detail why praise is given,
- Being what they are and in a varying manner, thereby showing a special interest for the student who is praised,
- Provide suggestions and feedback to the recipient of praise about the positive impact of their behavior so that they can assess the abilities they have,
- Makes recipients of praises appreciate their good behavior and are eager to defend it,
- Compare previous behaviors and performance with current ones to stay focused on progress and improvement,
- Associate success with effort and ability to imply that the same success can be achieved in the future.

The praise we give to the students will be ineffective if:
- Given at random,
- Just give a general positive description,
- Uniform, does not show any special attention,
- Only reward participation, not process and results,
- Not providing useful information for the recipient of praise in analyzing himself,
- Gives a comparison between the performance of self with the performance of others so that will only make the focus on competition itself,
- Associate success with ability or factor only.
Praise forms can be given through speeches such as thank you, you are great, amazing, or gesture like thumbs up, smile, nods agree, pat on the shoulder, and so on. Most importantly, praise should be given with a sincere heart.
