Do not Cry For Milk which Has Been Spilled

Some of us, who consider the behavior that has been attached to him and has become his identity in the eyes of others it can not be changed again. Then he gives in to his behavior and feels enough of it. For example, he is satisfied with his height or skin color, so be unsure if he can change the height and color of the skin.

While an intelligent person, he will view that changing a behavior is easier than changing the model of ready-made clothing. Because our behavior is not like milk that already spilled and cannot be united again. Behavior is a thing that we may change as we want. In fact, with certain skills, we can change the nature or mindset of others.

Stories from Andalusia as a Lesson

Ibn Hazam narrated in his book, Thauqu al-Hammamah:

In Andalusia, there is a very famous merchant. Once, there was little competition between him and four other merchants. The four merchants were angry at the famous merchant and agreed to disturb his tranquility.

One morning, the famous merchant went to his shop wearing a white robe and a white turban covering his head. Halfway through the journey, the first merchant accidentally found him. After greeting him, this first merchant looked down at the headscarf and said, "How good is your yellow turban."

The famous trader reacted. "Is your eyes blind? This turban is white, not yellow!" she snapped angrily.

But the first sword coolly replied, "No, your turban is yellow, yes, yellow and beautiful."
Upset, the famous merchant ignored him and immediately left him. But some rare later, the second merchant facing him and say hello to him. After that, he looked at his turban and said, "How handsome you are today! How beautiful are your clothes, let alone your green turban."

"Man, this turban is white!" The answer while saving upset at heart.

But the second merchant said instead, "Wait, your turban is really green."
This time, the famous merchant could not hold back his emotions. So he said loudly, "This turban is white, man! Get away from me, hurry!" So the second merchant went away.

Meanwhile, this unfortunate poor merchant continued his pace while embittered in his heart. Occasionally he watched the tip of his turban on his shoulders to make sure the tip of his chef was completely white.

After moments later, he arrived at his shop. Then he pulled out the key and was about to unlock the door. However, suddenly the third merchant approached him and greeted him. The third merchant said to him, "Great lord, how wonderful this morning, especially after I saw you wearing very fine clothes and a very beautiful blue turban."

Hearing these words, it seems that this famous merchant had hesitated with his belief that his turban was completely white. So he sees his turban and holds it to assure its color. Then, he wiped his eyes and then said, "O my brother, my turban is white!"
"Blue, not white! Even your turban matches the blue, so you do not have to be sad," the third merchant said, leaving him.

So, with annoyance, the famous merchant shouted at him, "My friend, the turban is white!" Then, he looked back at his turban as he shuffled the edges with anxiety.

A moment later, as he sat idly in his shop as he continued to see the tip of his turban. suddenly the fourth merchant came to him. After greeting and making small talk, the fourth merchant said to him, "Dear gentleman, how good is your red turban! Where do you buy it?"

Again, this famous merchant must be upset. "My friends, look, this is white!"

"Not white, but red," the fourth merchant blurted out.

Hearing that, this famous merchant became wry and silent staring at the end of his sorb. A few moments later, he said to himself, "This turban is green! Oops, not green, but white. No, it's white but blue. Up is not blue but black."

And shortly after that, he suddenly laughed to himself, then shouted, and occasionally burst into tears. In fact, sometimes he jumps up and down like a child with a laugh.

Ibn Hazam said: Since then, I have seen him go crazy and often pelted with gravel by children in Andalusia.

Thus, the four merchants had not only changed the nature and behavior of the famous merchant, but also his intellect, with only the basic skills of affecting others, which they never learned.

How do you think with the skills that can be learned, illuminated by the light of truth, and then practiced by someone in order to be better and directed that will change the behavior and also our mindset and others.
