This morning a very attractive young woman came to apply at my restaurant.
Several of the male employees were extremely excited about the prospect of working with this young lady.
I was more interested in what kind of employee she would be as opposed to how attractive she was, but I did notice her incredibly good looks.
Unfortunately, she either didn't really need the job or she was so taken by her own self that she thought that the world revolved around her.
Needless to say, she was not a good fit. I'm going to list below all the things that she did wrong.

1 - Loitering
She loitered around the front of the restaurant for about a half hour before coming in to apply.
I thought this was very odd. She stood around the front of the restaurant, in the entryway, and continually walked back and forth while she was on her phone. It seemed like she was having a very heated conversation with someone.
During this time several the male employees noticed her and became enamored by her good looks. However, the manager also noticed her and couldn't help but say "What the heck is she doing out there?"
She was being the wrong kind of noticeable.
2 - She was in a rush
You shouldn't be in a rush when you're trying to get a job.
She filled out her application in less than 5 minutes, which is incredibly unusual. It usually takes most people about a half hour. You tend to want to make sure to get every single detail down on these applications.
She didn't seem to care about that, which is fine as long as she filled it out correctly.
However, by the time the manager came to see her she was so frustrated and hurried that she couldn't even stand still. It was clear that she had no time to wait for anyone else.
It only took the manager about five minutes to get to her because we weren't that busy.
She was acting like a spoiled kid with no patience whatsoever.
3 - Arrogance
The moment that this young lady told me she would like to fill out an application I knew that she was going to be incredibly conceited and full of herself.
After watching her walk around outside for about 30 minutes I could tell from her body language that she was very much like one of those girls at the club that is too good to talk to you.
That's not how we act at our jobs. We aren't at the club, we're a restaurant.
4 - Talking back
This was the clincher.
Monday is a pretty slow day so we don't usually have a full staff. In particular, we don't often have most of the managers here. You could say we have a skeleton crew.
There was no one here to do a full interview with the girl. She wanted to get hired right now but we couldn't make that happen.
I don't know what was going on in her life or what she did before this. She told she wanted to be a waitress, and that manager comes in tomorrow. He is the only one that can interview servers.
When I told her that he came in tomorrow, she told me she would take any job.... she just want to be hired right now.
In my opinion, waiting one day is not that bad. I told her as much, in a nice way mind you, and she told me right in front of the assistant general manager the following hilarious statement....
"What you guys can't hire nobody? You ain't got the ability to get jobs for people? What you running here?"
Of course that was all she needed to say to let us know that she was not a good applicant.
The last part is of course, proper English...... but I'm not even going to bold that one. Today's world is so full of different nuances regarding the English language that I hesitate to call anyone out on it.
When it comes time to get a job you need to make sure you are....
1 - On time and dressed for the part.
2 - Prepared to wait.
3 - Have a good attitude.
4 - Say Yes sir or something like that.
Maybe some part of it is a generational thing, but when you come to a job acting like you just don't care about anyone but yourself, then you're not going to get it no matter how good you look.
Thanks for the anecdotal story sir, ;). But yeah this attractive woman probably is entitled based on being a millennial and her looks. This was an example of how not to get hired. Good think you spotted this bag egg or she would of been a major headache. Thanks for the practical advice though as I have a job interview tomorrow!
Agreed. It was much better that we did not hire her.
good morning brother...
i am @benhornest your support in my job..👍👍👍👏👏👏
good luck brother..👋👋
Thank you.
Something learned to get a job.
Yes.
She was crazy to get the job.But she did not get the job because of his bad behavior
Yes. Bad behavior will get you nowhere.
I must say she may have acted that way because she took things for granted given her location: and knowing full well that applicants too have rights, are not treated like trash, and can sue a prospective employer for misbehaving.
This part of the world where I live in , applicants and employees are in the hands of their employers and are treated like garbage. Here in this part of the world, no one gets a job on merit. You have to know someone, who knows someone to be considered for a job.
On my very first interview, we were many applicants and some of waited the whole day before we were attended to. Those who got the job thereafter, were the ones that actually left the interview venue because they were tired of waiting.
Well applicants are usually treated like trash around here too. Maybe not as much as where you are but we don't usually give them any reason to act like she did. That was just completely out of control.
Attitude is the main thing, for we can survive in that job, thank you very much for sharing the story @ jeezzle
You're right. Attitude is everything.
yes, if we can do a good attitude, we will be easy to work
good luck for you @jeezzle
Attitude is 100%... You're how or what you behave
Exactly. Unfortunately for this girl it was quite obvious that she was going to be the person on the job that she was during the interview. That isn't someone we want to work with.
My people will say "Attitude is like smoke, you'd be unable to conceal it".
On my if she understood. Perhaps, she was just trying out the store and not really in need of the job
Nice anekdot story, I take it for My experiences in the next :D
You know a lot of people don't pay so much attention to the points mentioned they just feel that as long as they fill out the application right, and do some other stuffs they deserve the job.
