Are you fond of writing stories? Do you love writing but you don't know how to? Well, let me help you a little about that.

There are a lot of styles and techniques you need to undergo in order for your story will sound good or will look good. Here are seven points of Peter Solis Nery that I learned from my Creative Writing subject. I want to share my understanding to help everyone write a good story.

The seven points are as follows:

1.Character
In choosing a character, you must choose a flawed one, not the flawless one. Think and create of your own character. Don't limit yourself about creating your character. Modify as you need. It might be a blind little girl, a person who is a part of the LGBT community, a vampire, teenager who is a werewolf, ugly duckling, a retarded girl- anything! Think outside the box. Be creative. No one will hinder you in choosing your own character.

Flaws can be in every dimension or aspect of the character's life, it's not just on its physical state, but also psychological, emotional, mental or whatever it is. You can also mix it up to make better one.

2. Desire
Give your flawed character a desire for him/her to keep going. If in the first place, your character doesn't have a desire, your story will e as boring as your old teacher discussing, LOL. Joking perhaps. Just like in any other stories, the main characters have a desire too. The Little Mermaid wants the Prince. Cinderella wants to go to the ball. The beast wants to be human again. etc. Can you see it? Do you get it? The desire of a character gives color to the story itself.

Take note: Desire and need are two different things. Need is what the character wants in life, while desire is what the character wants in the story.

3. Opponent
Give your flawed character a mighty and worthy opponent. It doesn't have to be a person, but something that prevents the character in getting his/her desire in the story. Just like, Cinderella who wants to dance with the prince, but her step sister wants to dance with the prince too. Just like that! You can also make your opponent fight with the flawed character for one desire. How awesome is that scene! You can also have terror teachers, bullies, stupid ugly ducklings, etc. as your opponent in the story. Just like what you did to your flawed character, think also for a better opponent. Opponents give color to the story. Be creative.

4.Plan
It's time to make your tactical plan. A plan for the character to get his/her desire, to achieve his/her desire in the story. You must be creative in doing this one.For example, a shy boy wants to get the prettiest girl in their JS prom. First he needs to have a tuxedo, borrow the motorbike from his bully brother, stop in a flower shop to buy some but all the flower shops are closed, then he called a fairy god mother, but the fairy didn't hear him, he quickly went to the prom,
but there is a traffic jam, he decided to walk, when he arrived, the prettiest girl already had a date, so on and so forth. Just like that! Don't spoil your character. Don't give his/her desire directly. Play with your plot.

5.Fight
The big fight is the highlight of your story. Be creative! It can be a battle of words or anything you can think about. Don't limit yourself! Think and write creatively. Be unique in creating this scene. Make it as your own.

6. Enlightenment
Let you character realize about something. About his/her weaknesses and needs. Let there be enlightenment after the big fight. It's up to you if you let your character win or lose the fight, the important thing is, he/she must have a realization after that. Some of the characters get what they want but they're not happy, some are doing the opposite! Your character must have learned something from it. "Maybe it is far more better this way." "Maybe this is my story!" etc.

7. Reorientation
Finally, try to get back to a new normal, reorientation. If you don't want a happy ending, then go for it! It is up to you! Let your characters feel better in this situation. If you want a happy ending, then go. Anyway, it is your own story.

These are the seven point I learned from my Creative Writing subject. I hope you learned something too out from this article of mine. It is up to you also if you gonna follow this one, or not. Writers are going to write anyway! Be unique. But follow the basics of writing. Thanks for reading everyone!

Keep steeming. Enjoy Steeming.
