For most everyone I know getting up everyday is a goal all in itself, you just want that extra five minutes to drool all over your already drool filled pillow. Well that's a thing of the past with these ten helpful tips and tricks.
- Instead of showering the night before or even in the middle of the day why not just do it when your alarm goes off. The reason this helps is because we have to lug our stinky body all the way over to the bathroom, turn on the water, then slide out of your clothes into the coldness of the morning. The hot shower will sooth your cold skin and you will feel refreshed, until you have to jump out of the shower into the coldness again! But by this point your body will be wide awake.
- Place your alarm across the room, or tell a sibling, mom, dad, friend, etc, to hide it in your room so that when it goes off you have to walk all the way to the light turn it on, then find and turn off your alarm.
- When your alarm goes off trudge over to the light and just turn it on. This will trick the mind to thinking it is daytime and you need to start your day.
- Make coffee. Coffee contains caffeine which is a natural source of energy, but be careful caffeine is also addictive.
- Reward yourself for getting up. Go to Starbucks and get a drink, take a rep off your daily workout, go talk to the new girl down the block, whatever it is make it so you congratulate yourself for waking up.
- Choose a very loud and annoying alarm that just grinds your gears such as nails against a chalkboard, rocks being thrown at metal roofing, or glass shattering on the cement, and it will definitely make an impact against staying in bed.
- This one is a hard one but it will help, don't sleep in on the weekends. Set a time to get up throughout the "whole" week, not just 4-5 days of it. This will get your body used to a certain time to get up.
- This one ties into number 8 which is go to bed earlier. Schedule a time to lay in bed with all devices off and just think and stare at the ceiling . This will trick the brain into thinking it's late and you are getting tired.
- STOP USING YOUR BED TO DO ANYTHING BUT SLEEP (AND SEX). Your mind will think that the bed is a place to watch movies, play games, have fun in general.
- Write a steemit education post. This will get your brain thinking and what better way to wake up and teach the world and make monet at the same time.

Love it! You can even combine a few of these for maximum effect- find the most loud, obnoxious alarm you can and have your mom hide it across the room...

Well done :)
See, I don't have to wake up in the morning, because I hold my own schedule. But I do have to wake up at some point. What delays me from getting out of bed typically is getting lost in my thoughts from all the things I want to do and I think about them instead of doing them.
What has helped a bit, is take a few minutes to breathe and just figure out the most important thing to do and focus on getting ready so that I can do it, and start it. Thinking about it, and then feeling overwhelmed about getting out of bed, getting ready, dressed, eating, will only delay me from starting what I really want to be doing. So focus on that as a goal, then get up, and get ready, so that I can go and do what I intended on doing in the first place.
I'm sitting here, after midnight, thinking about needing to go to bed and then reading about needing to go to bed earlier. Lol.
Good post!
