Your story is so touching, in the most positiv way possible. I learned a lot just through this short lines. It is amazing how you write about this not at all easy topic so sovereign, informative and at the same time amusing. I wish English would be my mother language so that I could find the right words to express my feelings and thoughts about this post.
Back in Highschool I had a classmate who was colorblind as well. He couldn't distinguish red and green. Since I didn't now a lot about colorblindness until I read your post, I don't know what exact type he had. But I still remember that every teacher really considered it and created texts without these colors.
I am so sorry to hear that you are not free to decide what job you will perform.
It is just simply discriminatory and a perpetuation of inequality.
You are more than right. Moreover it makes me happy to hear that this is about to change. Because it totally should.
Your post is great. There is inequality and also discrimination. Not just because people are simply mean but because that aren't aware of it. Just like your friends who asked you what color this object has. I am sure they didn't mean it in a bad way. But you should stand up for yourself, just like you did in this post. You make people aware of what impacts their behavior have. And they will start thinking about it and trying to see it through your eyes. (allusion to your very interesting websites haha)
You have my full respect and appreciation.
Keep your mindset as positiv as it already is! :)
This means a lot that you really took the time to express your thoughts. I know you read the post becuase I feel your empathy. Thanks so much Miriam, @m1r1.
And yes, it was a hard time but I have learned to live with it. I simply took it as a joke. And I appreciate how they tried to understand my condition.
I'm glad that you notice the positivity. I try to keep it that way so i can inspire others especially those who are oppressed.
Your comments are very warm and sweet. See you around!
