Philippines
Our country was one of the few countries that were not into a K to 12 educational system. Yet recently Philippines atlast follow the said new curriculum.

As a pioneering of the said new system, I was excited back then when I was Grade 10 but it was more disappointing or discouraged, in short, I didn't find it's essence. It's like adding another pile of problems to a student also to the parents who financially support their children. There were a lot of complaints--- no books, no clear/proper orientation, not enough teachers, etc.. Students were just so confused on what to do. It's a worst case and the saddest thing, we can't do anything about it but instead be a good variable to government's experiment. It's really a difficult to adjust to the new system and we can't even asked advices from elders that could really answer our questions for we are the pioneering, they never experience what we've experienced. Also, some college students were just saying that Senior High School is just a piece of cake compared to College. Well, it's always hard just like when we started from our 1st Grade, 5+5 takes a lot of time to us to answer that but if your teacher ask you the same question you could probably answer it without blinking. My point is that, one should not look down someone just because you're older than him/her, first times will always be hard and impossible but someday you just can't believe when it's done. A person should not also talk as if he's been to every road of life.
People has different paths,
don't act as if you've experienced
everyone's joyful/
heartbreaking moments.

As days passed by, I learn to value the essence of being part of this curriculum, the K to 12. I was taken a back to the reality that I am not also ready yet to go to college. I am excited about me being a college student but also unsure if I am capable of being part of it. K to 12 is a blessing in disguise to a student like me for the experience of being a Senior High student mold us to be more prepared to College or whatever path we will take after this 2 years.
Students has choices on what to do after graduating:
- Pursue in College
- Find a Job/Business
- Go Abroad
- Other Stuffs
It was really an advantage especially to those who can't afford to go to college for they could stop from studying and find a job. With that, they could earn money and go to college! Plus, during your Senior High years you would probably know yourself even more on what would you really want for life or how will you see yourself 10 years from now. It's not just enhancing your skills and talents but also it was an enlightenment dor what we will pursue and be professional on a certain field someday. But don't get me wrong, along the way I also nag about being part of it haha I am a lazy student just like others.

Now, I am already a graduate of the new educational system of Philippines, K to 12, and am ready to face and excited to be a College student.
I choose to pursue college and BS Math was my chosen course. I am really grateful to be one of the "variable of the government's experiment" as they said hahaha it's not that bad at all, it was just a bad impression and a bad beggining I guess. As the quote says, "Sometimes when things are falling apart they might actually falling into place.".
Whatever you are, be a good one.
