While getting older as a principal in my 70th years I keep thinking back at age. When you talk to the little ones they will easily show you five fingers and say I am now 5 but nearly six, at that age they all want to be a bit older.
When they turn 13 they are very proud because now they can go to high school and to them it is a great achievement. If only they knew how fast the time goes by when you get older.
Then you get to the teenagers round about 16 years it is a very weird time in their lives as suddenly they are nearly grown up and get their driving licences at the age of 18.
All this is fine until they reach 21, when they have more knowledge than anyone older than them. They are just at that stage where life really let them loose and they are not under supervision anymore and can do what they want, when they want. They normally have a very big birthday party as this is their leaving home time
In my life, I did unfortunately have children who left this world too soon and did not get the chance to become older and understand a bit more about life.
At my old age I have the wonderful ability to sit and play on the computer when and how long I want. Being this age mean that I can do whatever I want, as I can listen to my 60 / 70 and other music I love as it is my prerogative for becoming old enough to decide for myself. I can even weep over lost love and it will not bother anyone as I am now old and have the right to feel the way I want to.
I can have my pudding before lunch and I can even live on pudding if I want, because no one cares that I am enjoying my life, they actually appreciate it for many years I had to follow the rules of life the way the world wanted me to. And if I die from my pudding eating expedition, at least I died a happy man.
I can walk on the beach in my costume with my body looking like a dried prune, it does not bother me as I am happy and enjoying my life. I know the people laugh at this old man, because I have folds that I can mark with a bookmark when I shower. I was rather fat and am now slim but a bit flabby and then I lose the last fold that I washed when I shower as I do forget a bit.
I want to say to all parents and children live everyday as if it is your last as long as you have your life in order. The older we get the fewer problems we have, and if we live right and have the privileged to go grey, enjoy every second as if it is your last. We do not know what Gods plan is for us but if we are ready we might just have a wonderful old age in front of us.
