Today I want to ask a question, and I will be so pleased if anyone can help me.
The one on left is older than the one on the right.
After teaching for more than 35 years, it has always bothered me that you find a group of children born in the same year that are just outstandingly smart.
This happens every four or five years. It has been bothering me for so long and, I would love to know if there is some brainy person here who can tell me why.
I have seen this happen many times. Not that the other children are not intelligent when they are born. But some years you get children and they all are very intelligent, they are academically outstanding. Then to make things even weirder they normally exceed at sport and other things in life as well.
I always say it is like sitting on the beach and counting the waves at high tide. Every sixth or seventh depending on the day the wave is bigger than the others. I sit here everyday watching and have found it works just like the children I am talking about.
To me, I found this with children in school and it has always bothered me what the reason could be.
I have googled it and tried everything to find out, but the answer still eludes me. But I can promise you for a fact that this happened in the 35 years I taught kids at school.
You have a very normal group of children, and then suddenly one year you have this whole group who is just outstanding at everything.
Why I really wish I could find out?
I can even name groups of children like this as they never leave your mind. They play good cricket good rugby and the girls are good at netball and athletics.
This is a group that has nothing to do with boys or girls. It is something about the year they were born in.
If there is someone out there that can help me with an answer, I would be so thankful as I am getting old now as my name states and I would really want to know before I leave this earth.
Just like the sea waves you get your very extraordinary children in a certain year.
I even spoke to other principal in other schools and they have the same strong group I have in a year in their schools.
There must be a reason for this only I do not know what it is.
Maybe a professor or a doctor read my post and have an answer for me. I would really be so thankful.

i think maybe that particular group/batch of students competing and influencing each other, thus resulting in a bunch of smarter students than those average ones. Could be by odds too.

This is really weird ...and I am really curious too.. I don't know the answer to your question but I hope that somebody with answers might stumble on the post and give you your answers.

Great job i must say, to me some students become more intelligent because they are happy with their teacher, or find their environment interesting and don't want to miss out

Can you remember the dates? I'm not a teacher, but I've noticed this sort of thing too. I just thought it was them influencing each other. After reading this I think it may be more.
No, but it used to happen every 5 - 6 years.
Dices que todos tienen la misma edad y todos son inteligentes, pero una parte es más aplicada que la otra y eso te molesta, así que me hace pensar que la parte del grupo que no se destaca al nivel del resto tiene problemas de concentración. Tal vez algo los perturbe o tal vez no reciban la dosis educativa en casa. solo es mi opinión @methusalem.

I really don't know if there is a specific reason for it. It is truly fascinating but while they might have interacted better or probably helped each other with their weakness if ever they had any, I think it might just be their uniqueness. Like a once in a blue moon kinda thing.
Profesor es muy interesante su planteamiento, aunque a mi nunca me ha ocurrido como docente.
Mis hipótesis son dos:
Soy creyente que existen cosas extraordinarias asociadas con las energías o la divinidad que mi cerebro no entiende. Lo poco que entiendo y en lo que creo es las energía iguales se atraen (contrario a lo que nos dice la Física y creo que ya la ciencia lo descubrirá en algún momento). En el caso de los grupos que les toca a usted con estas características es eso, nuestro universo tiene una forma de organización que por ahora no la conocemos, y esa organización responde a unas leyes universales. Estos chicos definitivamente se atraen y también lo atraen a usted. Es una experiencia que le toca para su evolución.
Por otro lado creo que la actitud que usted mantiene con sus grupos de estudiantes también influyen es su comportamiento (que al final de cuenta también tiene que ver con la manipulación de las energía). Una vez lei un articulo de investigación donde se experimento con dos grupos de estudiantes, donde uno tenia un rendimiento bajo y el otro alto.A los grupos se les asignaron maestros pero con una información contraria a la real, es decir al maestro que les tocaron los alumnos con rendimiento bajo le informaron lo contrario, es decir que los alumnos eran de rendimiento alto; y al maestro que tenia el grupo con rendimiento alto se le informó que el grupo era de rendimiento bajo. ¿Qué creo que ocurrió? Ocurrió lo que la actitud de cada docente atrajo; el grupo de bajo rendimiento se convirtió en un grupo excelente y el otro en un grupo mediocre.
Tengamos cuidado donde esta nuestra atención, pues ahi está nuestra energía y lo atraemos.
