The Importance of Building Communication and Linguistic Skills in Children

Good verbal communication skills help a person assert herself in the face of teachers, interviewers, and partners. Good verbal communication is highly appreciated by the owners of companies that hire employees. Aspects that are needed by a company owner in finding people as workers are communication skills, cooperation, and team building. Verbal skills, including the ability to speak and persuade well, are highly appreciated, perhaps because it is a clearer measure of a graduate's ability to work collaboratively and constructively with co-workers. Verbal aptitude is also decisive in public speaking, which is a combination of interpersonal and verbal skills, to share experiences with public for the common good.

While your child may not be constantly involved in public speaking, developing his verbal intelligence at a young age can lay the groundwork for public speaking in the future. As an adult, he or she may have to address social circles (eg toasting a party), work environments (eg oral presentations with co-workers and clients) or even in public settings (eg, addressing group meetings).

A person with high verbal intelligence will often find it easier to learn another language, especially in oral form, because he will be able to take advantage of the powerful audio-vocal relationship in his mind. It is also widely known that humans are most receptive to learning from birth to four years of age. However, since formal education begins around the age of five, we sometimes feel that younger children cannot be taught certain language skills. The truth is that before the child is five years old, he has absorbed a large amount of information, more than he will learn in any five-year period of his entire life. It’s never too early to help our children improve their verbal skills.

Someone who wishes to socialize or succeed in business must gain a position and influence in his community. It is not difficult for us to influence and occupy the position we want. We must believe in our abilities and ourselves. If we have developed good self-confidence our self-image will be viewed as powerful and positive, otherwise, it will be difficult for us to influence and get that position. If our self-image is viewed as less, others will not feel the spirit of leadership and trust to us to influence and get a power position in a community. Therefore, a good sense of self will give us the ability to socialize and to make others feel comfortable and trust in our presence.

Good communication skills are necessary for this, and almost every area in our lives

Many well-known verbally intelligent people are able to convey themselves perfectly and master the language skills necessary to interact with a crowd. For example, Oprah Winfrey, a producer and organizer of The Oprah Winfrey Show, is the most popular show woman in television history. She is someone with incredible verbal-linguistic skills, capable of conveying herself very well, both in everyday life and in performing on her show, which is watched by 33 million viewers a week in the United States and aired in 135 countries. She uses her linguistic and communication abilities in her show so the event can brighten, entertain, and empower her audience.
