Hi all steemian friends, on this occasion, I would like to share another interesting basic trick of arithmetic, especially for students who want to master arithmetic. This trick is named as Multiplying by 5.
On Saturday afternoon, you and your thirteen friends will agree to watch a movie at the cinema. The price of one ticket is $5. How much does it cost for these fourteen to watch a movie? To solve this problem, you must perform a 14 x 5 multiplication.
Here's the ways!
The quick trick of multiplying a number by 5 is by dividing it into two (the multiplied number is divided by 2). Then multiply 10. That's the answer! Let's try this very simple and accurate trick to calculate the above ticket costs.
Let's try with another example!
Always remember! This trick is very useful because it is much easier to divide a number rather than multiply it by the number 5. For this to be easier, try dividing each number by the number 2. For example, we see the number 92 in the mailbox, divide the number into two, but this division is enough we do in our minds.
Let's practice again!
This is all about my explanation for this basic arithmetic trick, follow my post to get other arithmetic tricks, that I will explain in my next post. Hopefully, this article useful for me personally and for you all.
