Games and Education
Games are important part of daily life. Many of us play games in every possible chance we have in our daily life. I am not sure if it is good or bad, but our children also love playing games a lot. In my opinion, there is a big connection between education and games.
First of all, games are great sources to learn English. It might be surprising to see some students speaking a second language which is usually English when they are just 11 or 12 years old. When you ask them how they can do it, they usually point their fingers at games and computer.
When the internet and games are under their hands, it is really possible to get better at languages. Games naturally urge them to look for the words which are international. By following this rules, children learn things about languages at very early age of their lives.
In addition to learning a language, it also helps them a lot to broaden their imagination. The things that they see in their daily life might be completely boring and ordinary. However, games give them a new world where they can see lots of new ideas.
As all educators know, imagination is an important part of education. If your children are not capable of imagining and questioning about things, they is no way for them to be creative and successful in their school works. Therefore, games must be in their life.
There are also some negative things. However, as long as we observe them carefully and make some vital moves in their learning process through internet and games, nothing is too harmful. Internet is the source which shows them both negative and positive sides of the world.
When your students use internet and games for their own good, everything is fine. In this issue, parents must be always watching their children and guide them when children need help about exploring the new world.
