Learning with Memory Techniques: The Periodic Table of Elements (46-50)

This is an easy way to learn Palladium, Silver, Cadmium, Indium and Tin. Learning with memory techniques is much easier than rote repetition. Especially when the images are already layed out to you in a clear and intuitive way. In this series we will memorize the Periodic Table of Elements by connecting it with the Visual Major System for numbers. We will cover five elements per post with special training images for all elements and numbers. Please check out our other episodes for more elements.

Elements Legend

Each element comes with a special training image. These contain the element number, a common application, a phonetically similar image for the name and the element symbol. The color of each training image indicates the element category.

46. Palladium

In the Visual Major System 4 = F or V and 6 = G or K. With that we can create the word FIG. The fortysixth element Palladium sounds similar like palace for example. This element is used in artificial teeth.

42. Silver

In the Visual Major System 4 = F or V and 7 = L. With that we can create the word FLY. The fortyseventh element Silver sounds like a silvan glade. It can be used for silver ingots.

48. Cadmium

In the Visual Major System 4 = F or V and 8 = B or P. With that we can create the word FBI and imagine their badge. The fortyeight element Cadmium sounds like the word cat. The element is often used for batteries like in cordless drills.

You open the door and a FBI badge is held up by a cat in uniform: "Sir we need to deconstruct your house. We brought our own cordless drills."
Come up with your own story or ask your students to that.

49. Indium

In the Visual Major System 4 = F or V and 9 = J or SH. With that we can create the word FISH. The fortyninth element Indium sounds the country India for which we can imagine a Ganesha statue. The element is used for solder in transistor radios.
