There are many strange and amazing sea creatures that very few people have heard of. One of those sea creatures is the 'warty frogfish' or 'clown frogfish'. The warty frogfish can grow up to 15cm in length and tends to change colour to match it's living environment. Frogfish can change colour and pigment pattern in only a few weeks, they can even turn plain white during coral bleaching events to blend in with the environment.

The warty frogfish can consume prey it's own size, thanks to its large prognathous mouth. They live in sheltered rocky and coral reefs, and can be found in tropical waters from the Indo-Pacific area to the western part of the Pacific Ocean.

Warty frogfish are masters at camouflage and lure their prey with an esca situated on the front of it's head. Even though frogfish move very slowly they have the fastest strike speed of any animal on earth.

Thank you :-)
Wow! What a weird little creature. Very cute!
The colouring definitely outshines the looks @tree-hugger how little we know about the animals in the sea.
So true... and there's so many more we're yet to discover.
