That's wonderful! I don't actually have any children of my own, but I was an au-pair for 9 years with various different families. I noticed a huge difference between children who were read to regularly and children who did not get that sort of stimulation often. Though, the best observation I made was when I was the one initiating the change to how reading and listening is approached. Reading should not just be homework or a chore.

I have six children and all of them love it when I read to them. I love it because it’s not just an education experience it’s a bonding one. Something special, even just a few minutes each night spent together, something I hope they will remember and do with their own children.
