All of us started to first times, and most of the time we mums had the chance to witness of of this. The first yawn, first time to smile, first time to laugh and first time to eat. Those stages of your babies life was so exciting to witness, how they look like and their reactions. I will share one of those first times with you mums, here is my baby Ythan's first experience to solid food. Since it's his first time for solid I prepared a small amount of cereal for him. We can also consult our pediatricians before introducing our babies to solid so that we will be well adviced.

The photo below is Ythan's very first morsel, and as what the picture shows he doesn't like it yet. Well it's normal this is his first time 😊.

And below is his reaction, his FUNNY yet cute reaction with his first taste of cereal. But after a few morsels he got used to the taste already. But there are some babies who push their foods out of their mouth for first few tries. It's normal but sometimes it indicate that our little ones is not yet ready for solids. If your baby liked his first solid but didn't finished it, don't fret remember this is his first time.

As what I mentioned earlier, it's better to consult our pediatrians first. So here are some few informations on how to start solid foods with baby.

In this stage your baby is just starting to solids so we need to prepare a small amount for them about 1/2 tablespoon only. And if the baby becomes accustomed to eating solids, we can gradually increase the size portion of the food. But even if our babies are taking solids already we mums need to continue with the milk, nurse or formula milk is still very important to baby's nutrition at this stage.

Below is what solid foods we can introduce to our first timers.

You can prepare also a chart to monitor closely on what food our little ones like or dislike. It's a big help also to identify and take note of foods he might have allergies. Below is the sample chart.

I worked as a Nutrition officer for an NGO before, we educate mothers on what and how to to feed their babies, but when i had my little boy, i did more understand and experienced how was it to be a mother and feed my child for the first time.. it was not easy. But with information like this that you have posted and also guidance and counselling and support for mothers, feeding would be a successful and enjoyable experience for the child and parents!

My mom taught me to let my baby sip some soup (tinola is best), so that his palate would be prepared for solids. 😉 And I guess it's effective, cause I didn't have a hard time introducing solids. Maybe you can try that as well. 😊😊
