So What is Extinction ?
extinction is the termination of an organism or of a group of organisms
Source
extinction came from the latin words "tinctus" meaning to put out or quenched and "tinguere" or to extinguish, as the words describe it an event which a certain king of living organism became extinct or in other word erased form the earth. based on the scientists who studied animals states that 99% of all the species that exist in earth are now extinct.
Extinction is a part of our vast history the most famous extinction that we know was the extinction of dinosaur that happened.
Extinction isn't a happy event because it ends a certain species when it happens. a certain species will be lost forever and will just be a history just like the dinosaurs and Woolly Mammoths.
but did you know the very first extinction happened at the Great Oxygenation Event about 2400 million years ago this extinction happens to the obligate anaerobic organisms because of the increasing Oxygen (O2) on this time and Oxygen (O2) is like a poison to this organism.

Anyway let's jump to our current timeline, It is now the 20th century but still, the Extinction is still going.
here are some animals that went extinct before or after entering the 20th century.
The Pyrenean ibex (Capra pyrenaica pyrenaica) was a subspecies of the Iberian wild goat that went extinct in 2000.
The West African black rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis longipes) was a subspecies of the black rhino that was declared extinct in 2011.
The last passenger pigeon, named “Martha,” died at age 29 at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1914.
Extinction affects even our the toughest animals in the jungle, deserts, or forest that we have like the Big Cats (Tigers, Lion, Panther, Jaguars, etc.) are having a hard time surviving and could actually become extinct.
Here's another List of extinct animals but this time we're looking at the Big Cats That are now just a history.
the American Cheetah went extinct about 10,000 years ago, shortly after the last Ice Age, possibly as a result of human encroachment on its territory.
also known as the North American cave lion – is an extinct subspecies of lion that lived in North America during the Pleistocene epoch (340,000 to 11,000 years ago).
At the end of the 19th century, palm plans Bali‘s rich volcanic northern slopes and the alluvial strip around the island. Tiger hunting started after the Dutch gained control over Bali.
Now we're done giving some animals that went extinct.
how about now we tackle about what is the cause of these extinctions.
well a large number of claims that almost all extinctions are man made. Due to the increasing size of human populations spaces that are occupied by animals are taken over and it affects the ways of living of an animals.
Here are some Places that animals occupied but then taken over by humans.
Forest - Forest are a natural habitat for the animals but this natural habitats are being taken by the humans and builds huge buildings. there are many cases like this but none of it was directly stopped because most of the people who are doing this have the power to manipulate the law on their hands.
River, Ponds, Sea - these places are the Aquatic animals home but this peaceful home of them are being disturbed by the increasing number of factories that ejects poisonous chemicals unto the water causing the animals to die.
Jungle - although not all jungles are accessible humans still manage to destroy animals on it, by the means of hunting. Hunters often hunt animals that are rare cause for them it's a trophy and not thinking that it could be the last of it's kind.
In the places above I've pointed out that most extinctions that are happening is because of human but it doesn't mean that all of it are caused by humans. There are an instance that an animal becomes extinct because of what we call survival of the fittest and was eaten by the big animals or maybe being taken by the natural means like disasters.

What can we do about it ?
Well it's simple but still people don't get it. if we share just occupy just the excat amount of space that we need there will be balance and if we could just respect the nature we could still save many more species of animals that we could think for.
For the forest we need to plant a seed for every tree that's been cut.
For the waters we need to be more sensitive about the waters and decreasing the chemicals that factories are giving.
there's a saying that "A thing is bad when it's too much" industrialization isn't bad at all cause it helps us human do more about our daily works. but too much of this is destroying our nature and killing our animals.
Don't wait for Mother Nature to fight back cause if she does, our human race will be annihilated .

Hi @memeitbaby very interesting and mindful compilation of animal history to celebrate the UNITED NATIONS WORLD WILDLIFE DAY. Indeed if we do not pay attention to these rare spices , true extinction will take place sooner than expected.
btw, nice layout you have used for the article though proper alignment can make it more presentable cheers
yes, if we do not make a move sooner or later our animal friends could be all extinct !
