So you want to have source of the image underneath your Images.
But it's so much work ...
I hear ya, mate. I'm here to help.
(The tool link if you don't wanna read more and just try it out )
Last time I created a tool that helps curators format big list of links for markdown and why I want to do it.
You can read that post here.
So I am happy to announce that after some feedback I added a functionality of HTML output , too, as some people don't actually use mark-down in their posts (which I thought was not possible).
So now those curators (looking at you @positivity :P ) can use it as well.
New Feature
I know you want to be a good Internet citizen and leave credit where it's due.
But I know it can be a pain.
That's why I created this tool. It will automatically convert a list of image links into a copy-able text that will show as an Image with an Image Source underneath.
Like this:
(Yes, I googled for Dandelions, I don't know why either ... I think I'm getting hungry)
Though the 'determination' of Image Source is not sophisticated at all. It just takes the URL, gets the base of it and puts www. at the beginning.
So with 'images8.alphacoders.com/434/434711.jpg ' it outputs www.alphacoders.com as the source. Which will work most of the time, but sometimes it will clearly be just wrong, like when the Image is hosted by Facebook, or Imggur, etc..
Update/edit
That's why by recommendation there is also a direct link to the source of the Img added alongside as this will help the Steemit Cleaners, too
But there was no free way of getting location of the images and the actual source. And even if you'd pay, it wouldn't be that accurate either.
Reverse Image Lookup is not simple at all so this will have to do.
I hope you enjoy it and use it.
Feature ideas ???
If you have any new feature ideas or bugs, or some small changes I should do to make it more relevant for you, let me know.

My articles are about all of this (Freedom, exploration, experimentation)
as well as my own transparent and authentic experiences.
Great tool, thanks. Between this and the the other curator tool you made earlier this week, you just saved me a lot of time. Many kudos. Upvoted
I'm glad to hear that @luzcypher
If you find some problems or potential improvements, give me a shout (I believe we are on Discord, too, so just PM me there for example to make sure I see it)
Hi Joe, Im thinking about referencing to this tool in the comments I make to users that dont source pictures in their posts, as an orientation to an easy way to source properly,
one question, would it be possible for the word Source to link to the full address of the picture and not just the domain?
as in the case above for it to link to
"images8.alphacoders.com/434/434711.jpg"
Im asking because we usually ask people to link to a specific source, so if they link to vk and the source says www.vk.com thats very general same if it links to a deviantartuser.deviantart.com/pic.jpg and the Source link links to deviantart.com
I hope my comment makes sense to you, this is in the context of steemcleaners comments to orient people who dont source images.
Thank you
Hey @walden
Sure, that would be so much easier to implement that what I did :D.
I can do that for you, though I wonder what is the point of that? Cause you can get that kind of source just by right clicking on the image and copying the location/url. So anyone can get that. That's why I thought if it actually links to an original website (let's say a Blog) it would be more 'rewarding' for the actual author. Though yes, the tool is not perfect at all at determining who the author is.
So I am happy to change it but I always like to understand the reasoning :).
So could you elaborate a bit more?
Done done dooone :)
A bug fix, or work around was implemented for a broke Copy to Clipboard button.
Hayho :) The tool is pretty nice, but i am wondering about the problem to get the correct 'determination' :o Could you explain it to me?
Hey, so I just updated it and now you also get a direct link to the Image, therefore you always get a 'proper source' as you'll be linking directly to the Image, too.
So now all's good.
Heyo @dez1337
I will give you an example. Let's say you take an image from Imgur or other similar website (even Facebook).
What happens there is that the tool will say that the source of the Image is Imgur or Facebook. But the original source of the Image is actually the person who uploaded it. In which case the tool is wrong.
(Similarly if you upload your own image, though then you don't have to 'quote' the source)
But if you just get the image from Google search, blog post, website, then it'll work just fine.
Is that more clear?
I guess this is the best solution. Thumps up
Wow this is an amazing tool thanks. Wish I had more SP to upvote you stronger:p
I do have a request though. I often post my images source at the bottoms but I like to format it using a (1)-(2)-(3) format with the images inside each number. Is there any way you can incorporate this?
Thanks for a request :).
Can you give me a specific markdown example of how that works ? I've seen something like that before I believe but as I don't use that system, can you give me a specific example so I know what to work with?
Cheers
Thank you, for having for your willingness.
Heres how I style my work:
[(1)](Link 1)-[(2)](link 2)-[(3)](link 3)- etc.
Thanks again fro taking interest in different styles of sourcing. Thank again fro your work on this project. Cheers!
Okay, I don't have time for it right now and I'll have to give this styling a try first before I completely understand it and could implement it. So can I ask you a favour? Can you remind me on some of my post in a week or so?
Thank you.
Once I understand it, it should be quite okay to implement. I just need to find some time for it.
Ah this one thank you @bayanihan for the reminders and the links. This is it.
I'm assuming you found it helpful? @sharatots
If so, I'm glad :).
