Hello all, here is my morning ride at Sanborn Park in Los Gatos, California. The shot below is near the start of a 3 mile climb, it is nice a green with ferns, large boulders, moss and a small creek running by.
The ride was 22 miles and 3.2k of climbing! (Glad it's done!) The weather for January was quite good around 68*f.
GPS data is from a Garmin Vivoactive HR, Wahoo fitness HRM
This is a shot taken a few yards past the top photo and looking back down the trail. You may be able to see that large boulder in the background.
The small creek running through the area
The older I get, the more I enjoy being outdoors and with nature
On the ridge, there is another park named Castle Rock State park where there are a lot of huge boulders as well, covered in green moss. An interesting landscape. The bike by the way is a Norco Team Carbon, around 23.5 lbs.
More boulders! (Many families hike around here and kids get to crawl around on them. Some rock climbers come here to tackle the huge rock faces.
This is a shot looking towards Santa Cruz, a little overcast in the morning. The other side of the hill is Santa Clara which was mostly blue skies
Heppy Beautiful Superbowl Sunday!
Aww....so nice 😍. I'm jealous with all the greens you got there.
It's like a jungle! You have central park... =)
Nah, it's gray and cold now. Not fun! And the market is not very fun too 😭😂.
Wow. Ride and then climb. That'll work out the calories
Hi ace, It was quite a ride and as an older guy, it is getting quite challenging. Thanks for stopping by!
you're welcome
So nice
Seems like you had a blast. You have a great weather out there. Everything so green. Can’t wait for spring here in NY. I’m sooo jealous.
Spring is around corner!
The pictures capture nature perfectly and for the 22 miles thats great you finished them i know i cant do that. Great blog keep it going ill be looking forward to your next one
I can tell you that I was exhausted at the 20 mile mark. The 3k of climbing includes some short steep sections between 15% and 20% grades.
Its just crazy 15% to 20% and thats almost a marathon 22 miles need 4 more and youll be there. By the way how did you get the picture to move like that i found that cool
The longest I've cycled on a road bike is 83 miles. The pic your talking about is a short video that is converted to a gif which is a shorter version of a video. Like 3 frames per second.
83 miles i would of died and thank you for the info on the pic
Stunning pictures, California is such a diverse state in terrain.
What type of camera do you use?
I'm using my cellphone for all cycling related activities, an iPhone 5s.
Wow would have never guessed, your photography almost fooled me.
The key for phone pics is to use the focus feature (small square box), the next is to take 2 photos focusing on different areas for different exposures. Then you choose the one that looks the best...
