"Lake Oesa, A Jade in the Mist", Steemitphotochallenge #21: Reflections.

This photograph was taken on a hike to one of the highest pass in the Canadian Rockies, Abbot Pass at an altitude of 2925 metres (9,598 feet), and can only be accessed through some of the most spectacular, if not the very best, hikes available in Canada.

By opposition with my first entry, the light is faded by the mid-summer mist and the arrival of a light rain darkening the rocks and the otherwise extreme vivid colours of Oesa Lake, in Yoho National Park. The greens come from both old lichen patches on the granitic moraine as well as from the moss the hangs for its life at this altitude. From here and using a powerful zoom, I could take a direct shot of my brother-like friend Sylvain Bedard coming back from his "record setting" climb up and down the pass.

I hope you all enjoy and will be able to read the full story, yet to come, at http://steemit.com/@eric-boucher

Namaste :)

Wow, that is a stunning location and photo.

Thanks a bunch, I'm surprised to see that this specific post hardly got any exposure... Nevertheless, I'm very glad you enjoyed and, when I post the results of my hiking in the Yoho National Park, specifically the Lake O'Hara area, blew my mind and is definitely the most beautiful area I have ever hiked in. Namaste :)

Absolutely gorgeous photo! I love the contrast.

thank you so very much, your words are definitely appreciated. These contrasts are nothing compared to what it looks like when it is sunny... You shall see so when I post on the hiking I did in the Lake O'Hara area, in Yoho National Park. Namaste :)

Your hike and we get rewarded with the view!

So far, it has been a great pleasure and I'm glad you have been enjoying too. Namaste :)
