Flames of fire filled the sky in the afternoon when we had a photo stop somewhere in Sierra Nevada, California on our western US round trip in 2014.
When I look at this picture I have to realize that a camera could never capture the reality. The colors on the horizon were much more intense than shown here.
We were blown away by this surreal spectacle.
