THIS WEEKS WINNERS ARE:
There were a few Contestants worthy of recognition, but first! A very Special thanks to @homecook for her invaluable curation this week of so many entries. Her thoughts really helped me to gain some alternative perspective for this week's entries. I felt like this week's top winners were all hidden gems and that Lucka thoughts really helped me to discover them
First Prize Winner
@yesslife

For this epic entry: https://steemit.com/steemitsandwichcontest/@yesslife/steemit-sandwich-contest-week-36-bomb
Okay... so I'm pretty sure her actual tears went into this sandwich, haha points for an original ingredient right!?
Yessica has been a regular of SSC for the past few months and I've got to say... this is probably one of her best entries! She really used that built up angst from missing last week and poured it into this one IMO. I'd also like to point out that in Venezuela (as a number of participants hail from there, not to mention are also just on Steemit!) I've come to realize that it's often a difficult task to obtain various ingredients in which to make such epic sandwiches. "We" in other parts of the world seem to have significant access to certain resources that perhaps are not available in other parts of the world...I believe that this entry really shows how she made the most of her ingredient opportunities and also displayed the passion behind her love for sandwiches :)
Ingredient wise (besides her tears), large "peasant bread" (which the name always makes me laugh), "Cheese of the Year" (which the name also made me laugh) & Leg Ham plus Beef and other cuts of pork.... Already these are ingredients worthy of a Manwich. Then... She infused her home made garlic sauce, which sounds delicious and a variety of veggies to add that refreshing and crunchy quality to an already giant sandwich action packed with MEAT!
Excellent step by step of how she prepared and then put it all together! Pictures were some of her best to date and overall presentation was top! I also enjoyed the little back story!
Also she came out with some tasty home made fries as a side at the end! This was truly a Womanwich to be admired and I'll admit, I doubt that I would have been able to handle it all myself, not in one go anyway.
All in All I think we can agree that this was a solid entry from her!
Second Prize & the new Week 37 Veto Vote Holder:
@intrepidsurfer

- Ravishing ravioli by Intrepidsurfer: since I am a huge fan of ravioli, using them as a sandwich, is a brilliant idea! They are easy to make and very versatile as far as the filling goes.The combination of bacon, veggies and of course chillies (which I am addicted to), sounds like a match made in heaven to me! Flash frying them after boiling, turnes this little ravishing parcels into the perfect portable snack for people on the go! Excellent work Intrepidsurfer!
Our 3rd Prize Winner for Steemit Sandwich Contest was jointly chosen by @homecook and myself and goes to [Big Drum Roll]
@andriepopa

- Simple complexity by Andreipopa: As the name suggests, this sandwich looks very simple, but the flavours are strong and beautifully matched. Using a vegetarian cake is especially clever, since it is moist and contains olives, which go hand in hand with cured ham. Oh yes, cured ham, one of my favourite ingredients of all time and a very traditional product of my area. There is not a household in Slovenia that doesn't have some of our delicious karst prossciutto and olives in the fridge! This is a mouthwatering creation by Andreipopa this week and deserves a place on the podium! Well done!
Featured Entries: (I will for the most part only be featuring the "Outstanding Achievement" winning entries in this section)
If you haven't already, please check this amazing creation out!
@lizelle - I'm not sure a week can go by where I'm not absolutely enthralled by this woman's creations! She's so creative and artisan in her entries.... This weeks Pizza Sandwich blew my mind & also our Week 36 Veto Voter's who said "This lady is off the hook!!! Outstanding sandwiches every week! Crazy combos and this pizza monster looks so yummy!!!"
@birdsinparadise - Another crazy bird who kills it every week! This Womanwich was BOMB. From the asparagus to the Filet Mignon to the Silly, this sandwich looked so freakin' good and artisan. The whole entry was entertaining and the details (various ingredient combos) all added up to what must have been a truly epic meal! Pres was top in this one too! https://steemitimages.com/0x0/https://gateway.ipfs.io/ipfs/QmcdJg3yHj4KMJUXT8PzFMEYvUEpKSudeNzBPR5pGRtUxP
@carolynstahl - I mean another top notch sandwich artist who typically specializes in vegetarian and vegan foods. She never seizes to impress me with her extremely thoughtful entries and creative use of ingredients. This Faux Fish Sandwich looked delicious. Again @homecook our week 36 Veto Voter was also wowed and said "I thought the faux fish sandwich was very interesting, a lot of work went into it, so most definitely an outstanding category winner!!" My thoughts exactly, when I first saw this entry ... I was very interested, not too mention that she slaved over making the fresh bread (something she won't be doing anymore lo), so that deserves a mention. Hearts of Palm as a major ingredient and her home made tartar sauce were highlights for me.
SELECTING WINNERS!
@jaybird: I select the winners based on a variety of parameters. Just do your thing and have fun with it. I'm considering many factors such as presentation, ingredients & originality, creativity, community opinion & artistic ability just to name a few. PLEASE make sure to follow the rules! They are easy to follow and help prevent the tragedy of Null entries!
There are now 3 prizes. First Prize = roughly 50% of the prize pool
Second Prize dubbed the "Veto Vote" = roughly 30% of the prize pool + the honour of selecting the following weeks second prize winner. This prize is ideally given to an entry that although it did not win the contest, showed distinction among all the other entries. This could be a feature such as it was the community favourite, it used the most bizarre ingredients, or, it was just the best looking sandwich etc. IMPORTANT! The "Veto Vote" holder may not vote on his or her own sandwich to be selected as the second prize. However, they are still eligible to win First Prize should they enter the contest that week.
Third Prize will be roughly 15% of the prize pool
Roughly 5% of the pool goes towards the "Outstanding Achievement Awards"
Week 37's Veto Vote holder is: @intrepidsurfer and was selected by @homecook who was week 36's Veto Vote holder. Thank you both for your participation!
IMPORTANT! "Veto Vote" holders must always present their final selection to @jaybird in confidence and allow the news to be revealed in an officially "Who Won Steemit Sandwich Contest" blog post. Deviation from this method will result in a forfeit of the Veto Vote and thus, the selection will be consider null and a new winner will be chosen by @jaybird.
Veto Voters can contact @jaybird through or Steemit.chat username: jaybird or discord jaybird#4732 . If for whatever reasons, the Veto Vote winner does not select an entry in the following weeks contest, I will be the default second prize selector for that week.

Oh yeah!! My God I am so happy to see this there was a smile on my face I did not think I was going to achieve the truth every time there are participants with very good tickets worthy of being here.
It was not easy to make this sandwich as it says @jaybird it is difficult to have access to ingredients as many times as the bread does not get so easily you must go to a bakery and queue that if, if there is flour for them to make bread , the other ingredients are available but its price is very high. It takes a lot of money to make a sandwich of this kind. I wanted to take a risk and try to buy what I could. Sometimes it is a little difficult for me to prepare a sandwich.
These awards and what I get here at Steemit I save so I can continue with my cooking studies so I feel grateful to everyone here, you get good people and good opportunities.
Thanks @jaybird I am happy that you liked this sandwich this was the one that I work the hardest and I enjoy it as always
