Hi Steemians, writing this post has mixed emotions for me. On one hand, I'm happy because I love burgers and wanted to share this with you, on the other hand I intended to also enter it into the Steemit Sandwich Contest but I stupidly forgot one of the very important rules so my entry is actually invalid :(
Either way, I still love the Steemit Sandwich Contest and think it's a great initiative so will abide by all the other rules in the hope of getting the contest more recognition :)
Enough chit chat - let's get into it...! I've always wanted to try a "simple" peri-peri marinade as the one I usually make requires roasted capsicums (which I roast myself) and I usually cook the chicken over charcoal. I wanted something simple that could be a weeknight meal so I decided to give it a go with just raw capsicums and see if it still worked out, the answer is a resounding YES! Read on to find out more
- Ingredients required for marinade
- Add capsicums (chopped) and all the other marinade ingredients into a food processor or blender
- I used ziplock baggys to marinade the chicken thighs. Leave to marinade for 24 hours.
- Cook the thighs - I used my cast iron pan for this, great for high heat as non-stick is not built for this kind of heat
- Prepare a delicious side of hand-cut potato wedges sprinkled with onion powder, smoked paprika and salt
- Dinner is served!
Anyone familiar with the Steemit Sandwich Contest will know that you have to actually have one photo that validates your entry, sadly this was forgotten but luckily I was able to commiserate by eating this lovely burger. I made it for my family and they all loved it so I hope you guys did too!
Let me know what you think of this recipe and whether you have a different variation for chicken burgers that you like to make!
@phamished xx
Not sure why I keep torturing myself looking at recipes like this, especially when I am hungry, nonetheless this is one tasty looking burger... now, what can I have for dinner? Thank you for sharing
Haha I do it all the time too when I'm on Steemit so I totally understand what you're saying!! Thank you for your kind comment! Hmm, what to eat for dinner? Depends what's in your kitchen :)

Thank you @kawaiipower!! Yes please do, I really enjoyed it although I would recommend less cayenne pepper than I put in, my mum and sister thought it was a bit too spicy >< - my dad and I loved it though haha
ok! thank you so much for your advice! l like spicy food but my dad and bro aren't so l will put less cayenne pepper 😊

Nah it's all good, I've been MIA from Steemit too so I need to do some catching up of my own!! Thanks love but I think it's a void entry because I forgot to take a photo of the food with a sign lol. Oh well we enjoyed eating it which is what matters :P
Wow this burger makes me hungry, i really want yo tty your recipe i hope i get it right.
Yes please do give it a try! I'm sure you will, the recipe is quite forgiving and if for whatever reason it doesn't work out, let me know and I can try to help :) Good luck!
the pepper sauce, I am going to make it!
I'd love for you to try! Yes to be honest I probably made it too spicy (I love it hot) but my sister and dad were not so keen haha. It's so easy to make and not sure it's worth me actually chargrilling the capsicums before like I used to!
