All very well said. dobartim was trying to associate the value of the Steem currency based solely on the success of its users, which makes no logical sense at all. The value of the Steem currency has a lot more to do with what value it offers in terms of its usefulness within the real world and the open markets. I think the Steemit platform does drive up the value of the Steem currency, as does DTube, and the advent of other related platforms; but the success of individuals here is irrelevant to the market value of Steem.
While I see nothing wrong with training people to make better use of Steemit and promoting the platform to new users is probably a good thing, either is irrelevant when it comes to the value of Steem.
What's really nailing the value of crypto's is its shutting out from banks, foreign governments, and the fact that payment processors and merchants across the globe have found the integration of crypto's to be extremely challenging to say the least.
But for someone to sit here and say that the value of Steem is based solely on its users, is like saying the value of the stock market is based on stockholders ability to invest wisely. That's not how the stock market works. The value comes from business productivity and associated profits, not shareholders.
ithout poeple and beleivers you have nothing, if you dont have poeple and users than you have only name without value.
I'd like to see Steemit grow too and for more people to take interest in it as well. But this platform has a serious problem with attracting talented creators when it rarely rewards its users for their hard work and contributions. Steemit has created a one-sided system that only benefits a handful of people, while shunning the rest. Its often the spammers who get the most recognition too. I've seen posts that were nothing more than a few sentences of broken text earning $60. How does this encourage new users to want to contribute to this platform?
They need to change their ranking algorithms to better focus on quality content and stop ranking spam on the front page. All that spam is going to continue to devalue this platform if it continues. Ranking content based on upvotes makes no logical sense at all.
