Day #12: Me More./steemit school of poetry.

in #steemitschoolpoetry β€’ 7 years ago (edited)

Let's walk a few miles in the shoes of girls whose hearts has been broken by the yoruba demons, lol. (yoruba demon is a nigerian way of saying fuck boy, πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚).

Imagine how shattered it would be to love a fuck boy genuinely and even though you keep telling yourself to stop, your heart doesn't listen to you and it still falls.
I hope you enjoy this poem. ❀❀❀

ME MORE.

I keep to myself.
Sometimes I speak to myself.
Who else would tell me the needful?
Who else could see beneath my beautiful?

Beneath the beautiful face and dress lies
A girl insecure , Trust betrayed
Emotions battered.
The girl ready to debate that men are scum at a moment notice.

The girl that once loved with all her heart
The girl that was betrayed.
Done proudly by the boys in form of men, the ones that dress to kill,
And proudly call themselves Demons, demons they are,
For a special place in hell awaits them.

The girl that was once full of love.
Ready to explore the said beautiful core of a man's soul, rendered socially awkward.
Made to realize the sick nature of this world way to early,
Made to walk around, only to carry the grief of heart break.

A grief too much for my age
I was 18 years
Only so last week
I must remain with myself
My love is not for others to share

I would be me
No more would I be manipulated in the name of love
I am done with guys
And No
I'm not anti social
I don't hate boys
I just need to heal
Because I love me more!

good poem. I would like to know more about the meaning of yoruba demons

It is the Nigerian way of saying fuck boy.

Really nice... Yoruba demons be doing wonders

Lol 😭😭😭 i know right

They are in every country I think.

I felt for the girl in your poem, but she is lucky to learn at 18 to love herself first, for many people it takes a lot longer.
