First, I want to give you a little background of @SteemitTalk Podcast. Almost a year ago, this project was started by @winstonwolfe and myself to talk all things Steemit. The first 20 minute episode was actually recorded with the two of us talking into an iPhone! The following episode we were joined by @giftedgaia, using three microphone stands that we used twisty ties to attach the iPhone and iPods. Talk about Janky!! See...
But we made it work!!

Q: What do we do on @SteemitTalk Podcast?
Over the last year, the shows evolved into highlighting big Steemit news, awesome posts, discussion topics, and having a great time interacting with Steemians in our Discord Chat during the recording. We've also had some fantastic guests ranging from @soundlegion, @jessamynorchard, @instructor2121 and @anotherjoe from @steem-trail, @jphenderson (aka theWalrus) from Whaleshares, @williambanks to the famous @kevinwong!
Q: Different How? Like @Sykochica doing the whole show in a Muppet voice?
Well...maybe you all can talk me into that. But I'd suspect it'd get weird pretty quickly. Lol
Seriously though...this week were having our first official Newbie Cast! There have been a TON of new users joining up on Steemit in the last couple months, including many in our own city. So we're having a couple of these local newbies join us in the studio! This episode will be all things NEWBIE!!
We're having newbie guests, answering newbie questions, providing links to resources great for newbies as well as primarily featuring Newbie Posts!!
Q: So what do you need help with?
Between there being 10,000+ new posts everyday and us having limited time, I want to hear from YOU!!
Post a Steemit question you have or a link to something produced by a newbie that you find PHENOMENAL!!
Feel free to put the link of your own OR somebody else's work. The only thing I ask is that they are a Newbie...meaning been here three months or less. Amount of held Steem Power doesn't matter.
Upvote comments of things you would like to see highlighted. (Increases they're chance, but still no guarantees.)
Some of these will be highlighted on the show, getting our and the audiences responses, and possibly leading into an in depth discussion. Any topic is acceptable...just make it cool and interesting! On top of this everything we bring up on the episode is included in the actual post put up on the @SteemitTalk account and resteemed by many including all the hosts and others.
NOTE: I can not guaranty every single thing will make it on the show, no promises. We run for three hours and will do what we can.

As with any project, I'm sure hopes were high, but this is such a new thing that I can't help but wonder how much was simply experimental. Even now it's labeled as being in Beta. I'm sure there was an element of "Let's toss it out there and see what happens."
Morning @sykochica, I love to see your continued support for new members here on Steemit.
One of the people I would like to suggest is @tonyr. I don't have a specific post, but overall in the past 2.5 months since he joined he has shared so much of his life and his talent for drawing and has now started giving back through his "Learn to Draw with Friends" contest. That is how I first found him, I entered his contest and made a series of step-by-step posts on how I created my entries that he then shared with his followers as a guide for others to learn from.
I think people's ability to grow over time on Steemit and get more involved in passing knowledge or support to others is a great quality we should all look for in new Steemians.
I was also thinking to share the Steemit business cards on Sunday's show to help get those out to people who can use them. Not just mine, but also your own post about it and any others who submitted their work to you.

It was actually the very next day! Needless to say, we were pretty excited about what we were doing and couldn't wait a full 24 hours, let alone a week! LOL

I have a question!

Basically I want to do with my SBD whatever is best for long term value.
I keep hearing that steem power is a long term investment, so you actually end up with more $$ in the long run.
So does that mean when you power up that your SBD is slowly drip fed back to you over time or something? Or does it just mean that because Steem power gives you more influence you have the ability to make more SPD with that influence?
My idea was that I should just be 100% in steem power. But does that mean I will never have any SBD?
I'm not sure if I'm phrasing this properly... hopefully you get what I mean.
