Runners, you need to tell me:
- How fast you intend to run – a number from 1-15 (you can use decimal places if you like e.g. 5.5)
- How many hours you intend to run for – a number from 1-2 (you can use a decimal for partial hours e.g. 1.5)
- How many energy gels you will consume – a number from 0 – however many gels you have (whole numbers only)
- If you want to rest, how long you intend to rest (in hours) – a number from 1-2
Runners have until 10am tomorrow New Zealand time, to tell me their choices. Anyone not replying in the next 24 hours will be classed as DNF (Did Not Finish).

I have two questions: Can you eat energy gels only when you are running, but not when resting? And for the last round I rested for 1 hour, what happens with the second hour?
You can eat energy gels at any time. 1 gel gives you 1 extra km for that turn. (it costs you a little in terms of health damage though)
You can use up to 2 hours worth of time. So if you rest for 1 hour, the other hour does't get used.
This was more useful when i had it set up so you could rest AND run in a single turn. But I've stopped doing that because it just gets really confusing really fast when I do the calculations.
So if you're going to rest it would make sense to rest for 2 hours ;-)
Ok. Thank you for making this clear :D I didn't get this from the instructions. About the gels, this means I can't really use gels if I am only resting, right?
