Steemjet in Arewa: The Biggest Campaign In the Northern Nigeria Plus

in #steemjet6 years ago (edited)

Arewa is a Hausa language term used in reference to the Northern Nigeria.

The Steemjet Community (@steemjet) on steemit is among the most sensational communities on steemit filled with vibrant and talented people all across the globe. A global movement with global steem adoption as its goal. The community is 100% self-funded by the humble Lannister, sir @dimimp.

In Nigeria, Arewa (The Northern Nigeria) has the largest population density according to Wikipedia.

There are bundles of opportunities and equally tons of problems within these places that I believe Steemjet can contribute to helping the region.

Arewa is filled with large population of youths and teenagers who are very less experienced and educated about Internet and the power of blockchain, cryptocurrencies and/or steemit.

I've witnessed countless opportunities that can only be utilised by the people of the other segments of the country. But I don't want Steemjet to be another one.

Because of the high level of illiteracy and poor system of communication within these places, it's hard for the youths to participate in various projects, events, platforms, and tech forums within the continent.

Arewa is the Future!

Big corporations like Google, Facebook, Digital Ocean, WordPress, TedX and a number of tech giants are now utilising this opportunity to introduce their brands and their technologies to the Arewa. Through several projects, hackathons, competitions, forums, meet ups, DevOps etc, Arewa is growing!

Steemjet can equally tap into this rising opportunity to promote massive adoption of steem and widespread usage of steemit blockchain.

Steemjet in Arewa Campaign

The Steem blockchain is a very unique and interesting one. Creating and giving everyone an opportunity to participate in the blockchain and equally build his/her dreams with steemit. Whether you are a writer or a teacher, a photographer or a graphix artist, a singer or a drummer, an artist or a student, a V-logger or a painter etc, steemit is a perfect place to start living your dreams. Creating a culture, a community or finding one on steemit is pretty much easier.

I have been on steemit.com for some months now and I'm super excited about the experience so far. I've been doing much work for communities and groups more than I've done solo.

So now, I've decided to reach more people in the Northern Nigeria to Preach Steemjet to the youths, the students, corporate guys and virtually everyone. I believe this project will greatly promote the steem platform to a very wider audience.

Global adoption of steem blockchain is possible! ~ Steemjet

The Concept

This campaign will be in forms of workshops with Q&A sessions whereby the participants can learn about Steemit, Steemjet and Cryptocurrency. It's relevance and its functionalities, they can ask questions and be provided with answers and resources from resources by the speakers. It's going to be a very interactive process. Not a pitch or marketing kind of thing but pure exchange of ideas.

The Plan

The is a big project that seeks to impart greatly on the community. We are going to rely on the massive in-house talents on Steemjet to carry out the campaigns.

The campaign will be distributed within the Arewa provinces.

Arewa (Northern Nigeria) is divided into 18 provinces:
Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Kano, Katsina, Plateau, Taraba, Niger, Adamawa, Kaduna, Sokoto, Gombe, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kogi, Nassarawa, Yobe, and Zamfara.

So, I'm planning to start with the students. They're the first individuals with the ready skills that can contribute to and benefit on Steemjet and Steemit. We're working on something titled "Arewa Steemit Campus Meet-ups". This will introduce the students to blockchain, cryptocurrencies, steemit and how steemit can propel their crafts and skills. This will run for 2-3 months and will take place at different campuses within the Arewa.

Then...

On successful completion of the Steem "Arewa Steemit Campus Meet-ups", we can then extend the campaign to other demographics or classes of people like the corporate workers and general public within the environment. But, a step a time they said.

The Team

The team will contain majority of the Steemjet Community who are interested in to participate in the campaign. Including me, @lifeofdarlington, @afolwalex, @mannyz, @jubreal, @joshelior, @rolexxy, @supremeneo and other steemjet members who understand the Northern Nigerian well.

The Budget

The budget is quite heavy for me to fully fund. I'll request for support both in funding, moral and/or in provision of any necessary materials that may aid the campaign. I believe sir @dimimp will be interested in the project for the Steemjet community.

We have a budget of about 2500 steem to fully fund this and below is an abridged estimated cost of the campaigns.

gracias!

I will greatly appreciate the support of the boss himself, @dimimp, the captain @lordjames, and the entire SF members. Arewa is a grossly neglected and an under privileged part of the country with heavily promising individuals that'll be positively affected by this initiative.

So, let's Preach the Steem!

Thank you!

Sort:

Arewa actually has the most populated density. And the fact still remains that lots of youths and teenagers there are still ignorant of some things, that's because lots of efforts to make them know hasn't been accomplished.

Preaching Crypto to them is a boost to their knowledge. We can do this @dimimp!

Nice one @rextyge, well compiled.

Thank you @afolwalex!

Great initiative dear, ride on

Thank you @cherylsonty!
