For today's food recipe, I am going to share a seafood Italian pasta recipe called "Squid Ink Pasta With Prawns In Parsley Sauce".
Squid Ink Pasta
This kind of pasta is smooth, delicate and just a little salty. One of the most common recipes of the Italian coastal regions. Believed to have originated in Sicily, you can find various versions of it in every region in Italy.

Preparation Time : 20 minutes
Cooking time : 25 minutes
Total time: 45 mins
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
- handful of fresh parsely (finely chopped)
- 25 grams unsalted butter
- 20 grams plain flour
- 600 ml milk
- 1 clove of garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4-6 ounces Squid ink pasta
- 250 grams of prawns (peeled and deveined)
- 1 tbsp. of lemon juice
Procedures
Pasta
- Boil salted water in a pot. Put a teaspoon of cooking oil so the pasta won't be sticky. Add the squid ink pasta and cook for five minutes or till aldente .
- Drain and return to the pot.
Sautéed Shrimp
- Wash and drained the prawns. Marinate with garlic, pepper, and lemon.
- Sautéed for 5 minutes in a skillet with olive or cooking oil over medium heat and set aside.
Parsley Sauce
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the flour and stir for 1-2 minutes.
- Turn off the heat. Gradually add and stir in the milk to get a smooth sauce. Bring to boil in low heat for 1-2 minutes.
- Add a tspn of chopped parsley. Simmer gently for 8-10 minutes, Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the sautéed prawns to parsely sauce.
- Mix well over low heat.
And viola! you have a soulful Italian pasta dish!

I have seen squid ink pasta but never eaten it, I just love seafood, this looks scrumptious!
I first tried it in FLorence, Italy .
It taste just a bit salty than the othet tasteless regular pasta and thought of making a recipe with it myself for a change.

Squid ink pasta always looks so weird but amazing when combined with more brighter colored food. That's definitely a dish that I would enjoy eating and you've explained the recipe perfectly.

Squid ink pasta? Never heard of that one before. It looks yummy. We'd probably make it differently over here. We don't put milk in our sauce, 😂.
I have no clue what to do with my self in the kitchen but maybe I will try this one with normal pasta without flour or milk though.
